Wolfsbane? My heart skipped a beat at the realization that this man had just shielded me from getting poisoned. Why would he go that far? Just what was our relationship?

"Kian, are you okay?" He asked despite being the one hurt.

My hands found their way to his neck, "I'm fine." He let out a relieved sigh. "That's good, you're both safe." He exhaled right before hooking his arms under my knees and hoisting me off the floor.
