Without much thought for the first skill reward, he chose the Illusion Arts; after all, he actually has an illusion skill.
For the second skill reward, though, he took a few moments to weigh the pros and cons of each skill. In the end, Xiao Ying chose to get the "Undying Will" skill. His thought process was that he could perpetually cultivate all day if his will is strong enough to protect his mind. He also figured that there would be times where he would he'd have to persevere through some things.
He also allocated the stat points as follows: 8 to absorption, 2 to perception, 3 to strength, 8 to intelligence, 3 to agility, and 4 to vitality.
That brought all of his stats to 20 with 4 left over. He had decided to save those 4 for an emergency in the future.
With the 4 skill points rewarded to him, Xiao Ying allocated one to each of his skills, except the movement technique.
Once again, his status refreshed.

After organizing his system, Xiao Ying tried to cultivate.
Unlike before, his will was able to shield his mind, and he didn't have to focus all of his attention to absorbing the Shadow-Blood Qi.
He realized that if he could split his concentration between cultivating and the other things he does, he could technically continue cultivation.

These days, he had also spent time with the others and had grown pretty close to them. However, the nightmares had caused him to grow colder the more he endured them.
During this time of cultivation, he was able to break through into the Mid Physique Tempering Phase.

Right now, Xiao Ying was walking downstairs to eat dinner with his family.
"You're already at the Mid Physique Tempering Phase? You're pretty talented!" Dan told him.
"Mhm. I guess. Let's go ahead and eat while it's hot, I'm practically starving!" Xiao Ying brushed off the compliment.
Afterwards, everyone talked while they ate. Everyone was mostly talking about how fast Xiao Ying's cultivation has been progressing.
Soon after, dinner was done with him eating a resounding 15 plates; a new record for him.
Seeing that Michael was about to go upstairs to his room, he quickly walked up and whispered into his ear.
"I've got to talk to you, privately. Come into my room after everyone is cultivating." Xiao Ying told him.
Michael just nodded and kept walking like nothing happened.
About an hour or two later, Xiao Ying heard a knock on his door. Opening it, it turned out that it was Michael.
Michael stepped in and Xiao Ying closed the door behind him.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Michael questioned.
"Keep this talk between us, okay?" Xiao Ying told him.
"Mhm. Stop beating around the bush and get to it."
"Alright, alright. Do you, by any chance, know how one can become an….assassin?"
Michael just stared at him in silence for a few moments.
Breaking the silence, he said, "I heard a few things when I was on the streets, why?"
"I…want to become an assassin." Xiao Ying answered truthfully.
"Like I said, I heard something on the streets. Word is is that there's supposed to be a hidden sect that specializes in assassinations and things of the kind, but I cannot promise you that you'll be safe if you go and try to register."
"I'll take the chance. Show me where it's at."
"Okay. But remember, I'm only doing this because I consider you a brother."
"Okay, let's go."
After that, Michael and Xiao Ying snuck out of the house before Michael led him to where the hidden sect was rumored to be.
When they got there, Michael immediately returned home as he didn't want to get involved with any of that stuff.
In front of Xiao Ying, was a bar. It was old and dilapidated. Walking inside, the interior was dark, but there were still plenty of people there. They all had a cold air about them.
Once inside, he decided to walk up to the bartender to ask about information on it.
Once he went up to them bar counter, he found him a seat. Once the bartender noticed him, he went to serve him.
"What would you like kid?" He asked with a gruff voice.
"A way to become an assassin." Xiao Ying replied immediately.
Looking around, the bartender said, "Follow me. But there is no going back."
After that, he lead Xiao Ying to a stairwell that led under the bar. To his surprise, there seemed to be a whole little city under the bar, however, there was a gate with two guards standing in front of it.
The guards wore black leather armor with a hood and mask that covered their face. On their waists were two swords. They emitted a harrowing pressure. It seemed that they were much, much stronger than Dan. They must be Peak Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivators.
"Aye Jackson," the bartender said, " this one wants to join and become an assassin."
One of the the guards replied, "Mid Physique Tempering Phase? Take him in." Before opening the gates.
The bartender then led Xiao Ying through the underground city. Looking around, he saw many people dressed in the same armor as the two guards and many shops as well.
When he looked ahead, Xiao Ying noticed that he was being brought to a building that said registration.
Walking in, the bartender took him to a counter, saying, "Gary, brought another one for ya."
Behind the desk, was another person with the same set of armor, that replied, "alright, alright."
Looking at Xiao Ying, he asked, "name?"
"Xiao Ying." Xiao Ying replied.
"Cultivation?"
"Mid Physique Tempering Phase."
"Assassin name?"
After thinking for a bit, he answered, "Crimson Shadow."
"Alright, I've got you registered. Here's your identification card, your armor, and a map of the city. Welcome to the Shadow Assassin Sect and City."
