Ducking the quick swipe of the unnaturally fast bear, I do a backflip, and land on my feet.

I notice that the bear is stunned for some reason, and then I notice blood on my boot.

The bear falls over sideways, and then knowledge floods me.

'I have an inventory?!' I freeze, realizing i could have taken all the crap from the caravan and become rich enough to-- do what exactly? there are probably already bounties out for us due to being escaped slaves, how the hell am I gonna realistically get supplies. I guess we can figure that out tomorrow.

"I don't actually know how to butcher an animal."

Rem looks at me askance, like ive grown two more heads. Then, as Rem starts butchering the bear. who had just died of blood-loss. muttering she says, "Why the heck are you wearing a butler uniform if you've never gone hunting then?"

I grin, "Because I look dapper and handsome this way."

"Riiiiight." She replies, deadpan. she then looks me up and down, opens her mouth to say something, thinks better of it, and turns away with a blush. with my enhanced hearing I hear her mutter beneath her breath. "He's actually not wrong..."

I pretend I didn't hear her. "What?"

she replies, "Nothing, just wondering how you survived this long without ever butchering something."

I shrug. "I'm a good cook though." She nods, and I get to starting a campfire.

I grab a stick, shave it with a sharp rock, and get to seasoning the part of the bear meat she's butchered for eating.

"Where'd you get the salt?" She asks, "Stole it, I replied."

"How?" she asks, " I didn't see you grab any.

I grin, walk over to the rest of the bear, and store it in my inventory.

Then I expell it. and do it a few times. "You're like a walking space-bag."

I shrug. "We never did get to examine the contents of that bag."

She drops it on the ground, and pushes it over to me. "You examine it. after I eat the bear, I'm going to bed."

"works for me." I say.

she grabs the bear meat, eating all of it quickly, She takes one Haunch of meat and I take the other. she then nods, "You pass. This is seasoned just right."

"Well, that's the last of the salt," I say, "Got to get more if we wanna eat like this again. else its just meat."

I frown and continue, "At least until we take over a portion of the country, and make it so slavery is forbidden. Something like that."

"Don't forget to cycle the technique while your sleeping." I say.

The sound of a "Yep." Answers me from the other side of the cave, as Rem lies down, 30 minutes later I notice her snoring quietly.
