1 First Day as Young Master's Maid

[Blessings of Glory]

It was a well known historical romance novel.

[Blessings of Glory] was also a unique story whereas it began with solely the male lead's point of view.

It was my favorite novel out of all the books I'd read.

Instead of beginning with the Heroine's point of view, the novel opens with the male lead's point of view.

Regardless of how well-known the story were, it was abruptly put to an end.

I've never had the opportunity to read it all the way through, so I figured I'd just look for another novel in exchange.

But I found myself rereading [Blessings of Glory] over and over again.

For me, it was an oddly irreplaceable story.

Perhaps my desperation, or the fact that I adored the book so much, causes me to transmigrate into the novel's world.

(And here I am, being an extra whose name wasn't even mentioned in the story!)

I've been transmigrated as Bell Gratia, the daughter of a fallen noble, for a year now.

I was initially bewildered because my surroundings were unfamiliar, and as I awoke, I discovered how I have a different appearance.

But, after being hit by a car while crossing the street and dying, I assumed it was a normal transmigration just like every novels I read.

However, as I heard the name of this Empire, the Sol Empire, my opinion changed.

The novel [Blessings of Glory] was the first thing that came to mind. It leads me into thinking that I've been transmigrated inside my most favorite story.

(I used to think that transmigrating inside a story was simply a fantasy, but I still can't believe it's the real deal.)

(Everything in the novel is alive, and I'm engrossed in this world.)

I sighed deeply and shifted my gaze to the front, strengthening my grip on my suitcase.

Infront of me was the luxurious gate that belongs to the Libertas Dukedom, the family of the male lead, Nokto Libertas.

I won't keep silent about the fact that the male lead, Nokto, is suffering alone in that dark and cold room because I have been transmigrated within my favorite novel.

Now that the novel has come to life and has become my reality, I'm determined to help him create joyful memories, even if only a little, in order to ease his life's misery.

(I heard that they're searching for a maid to serve Nokto. So now is the moment for me to take that job.)

No one wants to serve under Nokto because he is essentially the Libertas family's abandoned, illegitimate child with a terrible personality and no influence.

And there's a high probability the maid who will serve under him will be harassed by the other maids.

(But I think I can endure bullies. I don't mind as long Nokto is happy.)

I entered the Libertas household after informing the knights that I was applying for a job.

"Are you Bell Gratia?"

In front of me stood a woman in her thirties. She has a serious expression on her face, and her every motion was so elegant.

"Yes, I am Bell Gratia."

I curtsied respectfully in front of her.

"My name is Emma Venia, and I'm the head maid at the pavilion of the young master."

(Right, pavilion. The Duke and Duchess of course, placed Nokto in a different building.)

"It's nice to meet you Lady Emma."

I nodded my head as we both went our way to Nokto's pavilion to settle down everything needed.

We sat across from each other, face to face, as soon as we entered her office.

"Bell Gratia, 17 years old, daughter of Baron Gratia?"

"Yes."

"Are you really sure that you want to serve as the young master's maid?"

She questioned, trying to make sure that I really am ready for my decision.

(She's asking this despite the fact that I've previously stated that I want to serve him?)

Her question alone made me realize how bad things are inside Nokto's pavilion and how badly he was treated.

"Yes. Please take good care of me, even if I'm still young and have no experience."

I politely lowered my head.

(Normally, someone with no experience, such as myself, would never consider working in the Libertas household.)

(However, because Nokto is in need of a servant, they were rash and negligent in their selection of a candidate, agreeing to hire anybody who wants to work here.)

"I understand. I will show you to your room right away."

The following day is my first day of work, and it would be my first time meeting Nokto, the novel's male lead.

He hates everyone in the mansion and doesn't want anyone close to him, according to the novel.

(Well, everything was from the male lead's point of view that could make me understand him better.)

As I walked toward his room, I nodded to myself, and my eyes furrowed as I remembered the novel.

Nokto claimed that being in that room made him feel suffocated and that he wanted to die.

Everyone around him are trash, and their gaze disgust him to the point of sending shivers down his spine.

But I'm more certain than anyone else that he hates being alone.

(That's why...)

I cleared my throat and knocked on the door.

"Good morning, young master! I'm a new maid who's recently assigned to you."

I spoke through the door, convincing myself that my voice was loud enough for him to hear, but there was no response.

(I'm sure he felt strange because other employees didn't bother to knock on his door.)

I grinned to myself and reached for the doorknob.

"Young master, I'm entering the room."

I pushed open the door. A strange stench hit my nose as soon as I went inside, and darkness obscured my vision.

The curtains were drawn tightly all around the room, preventing natural light from entering.

Even though it was dark, there were a few things visible.

His room was messy, with shattered vases, shredded books, and even torn fabrics littering on the floor.

(So this is what it looks like...)

I wistfully narrowed my eyes at the scene, realizing that reading about it and seeing it firsthand were two very different things.

The room was cold, just as the novel described.

As though I've just walked into a long-forgotten warehouse.

(I can't be shaken up just by this.)

I took a deep breath and tried to convince myself that despite how difficult things were, everything will work out.

My face lit up with a wonderful smile, and my eyes are drawn to Nokto, who's lying quietly under the blanket, appeared unwilling to reveal himself.

"Good morning, young master! My name is Bell Gratia, and as of today, I am your personal maid."

I curtsied and introduced myself. Despite the fact that he wasn't paying attention, I will treat him with the utmost respect.

"I don't need a maid. Leave."

(Oh... it's his voice..)

It was rough, but the words themselves were trembling, and he didn't hesitate to push me away.

I clapped my hands in response to his statement.

"Now, now~ you shouldn't say that young master."

I walked up to the windows, paying close attention to my own steps in case I hurt myself.

Silence filled the room until I pushed back the curtains, which let in the fresh morning air and light to his dark room.

"What the hell?!"

Nokto's startled voice breaks the silence, and when I turned around, I saw Nokto for the first time as he finally throws the blanket away from him.

In the sunlight, his unkempt silver hair gleams, and his violet eyes glint brilliantly as they meet mine.

Despite being a little skinny, he's a very attractive young man, just as described in the novel.

(... He's too skinny thanks to the non-nutritious food the employees gave him.)

"Time to rise young master!"

I gave him a wink and strolled over to another window to open it, pushing the curtains away without hesitation.

The mess and dustiness of his room became even more apparent when the light brightened the area.

(That damn Duke and his bitch.)

My teeth were clenched in anger, and my eyes were furrowed in frustration.

It irritated me greatly to see how my favorite character was treated.

(Why the hell did you bother to take him in if you're going to make him suffer anyways?!)

"I ask you, what the hell are you doing?!"

The angry voice came from Nokto, who was glaring daggers at me. His voice jolted me out of my thoughts, and I turned to face him, smiling.

"Of course I'm doing my job, young master."

I answered casually while also keeping my respect.

"I'm your personal maid after all! I have to wake you up in the morning, and reminds you to take a bath while I'm going to clean up your room."

His gaze unwavering as he continued to look at me as a threat. It was clearly visible that he's not pleased with my existence.

Even worse, maybe he thought I'm someone the Duchess sent to spy on him closely.

"Are you deaf? I said I don't need a personal maid!"

Seeing his wariness while also shaking in fear reminded me of how powerful and amazing he was.

(My favorite character, Nokto.)
