Finding Areej

Hours before Alliyah ended up in the alley…

Immediately she went to the front desk and made her query.

As she enters the hospital nearby the church.

The church overshadows the size of the hospital.

It may not be as big as the church but it is wide enough to occupy dozens of rooms for patients.

Alliyah rang the bell and requested for the attention of any nurse or anyone at the moment.

"Excuse me…" said by Alliyah in a polite way as she expects for someone to accommodate her.

Finally, a nurse came to Alliyah's request.

Unfortunately for Alliyah, in contrast to her good manners, the nurse was far from friendly.

"What is the problem? What can we do for you?" asked by the nurse in such impudence.

Though the nurse exhibits such an agitated tone in her voice, Alliyah did not mind the attitude of the nurse and went ahead with her query since she is desperate to find Areej.

"I was in a shipwreck and I survived…" Alliyah was not yet finished but the nurse reacted immediately to her words.

The nurse in a tight white dress uniform looked at Alliyah from head to toe before interrupting her. By the mention of shipwreck and surviving it, the nurse could not contain her reaction and expressed her positive surprise.

"Good for you! You look fine to me… Thank your God for the miracle because people die in shipwreck nowadays. I do not see how the hospital can help your condition." Abrasively stated by the nurse.

A sudden panic came into Alliyah's mind after hearing from the nurse that people usually die in a shipwreck and her being alive is a miracle.

Indeed it was a miracle to survive it but Alliyah wanted to be positive and ignore the thought that the young Areej is dead.

"Well, the hospital can help me finding my younger sister. She was with me in the ship. If I survived so she might have survived too. I would like to know if there was a blonde young girl, age of 7, admitted here just this week. Or if someone brought in …" Alliyah was not able to finish her elaboration because the nurse interrupted her.

"Look, curly spice! Or whatever your name is! I know what comes in and out of this hospital. There is no young blondie girl has been admitted here. She might even be dead, from all I know!" the nurse pointed out without even checking.

"You did not even check the records or asked your fellow nurses. Please, just check or message the other nearby hospitals if there is any blonde young girl admitted in their ward. It will not take that long. I bet your chief doctor would be able to do so." Alliyah still trying to have her manners intact and be courteous and polite as possible.

But the nurse still kept her attitude.

"What you do not understand to what I said? There is NO BLONDE GIRL admitted in this hospital this week. For sure, no little girls survive a shipwreck. I know it is difficult to accept but you are a miracle case and consider yourself lucky…" insensitively explained by the nurse.

Alliyah clenched her fist and losing her patience already. She may have been taught to be kind and have longer patience with people but her limit is being tested at the moment.

"… Because that young girl you are looking for, uh-uh she may be somewhere already down deep in the sea floors! Imagine a young girl getting drowned in that vast sea. Do you think she will even survive? Only yourself to blame, why go coasting around the sea with such bad weather… Tsk! Tsk! Consider her gone Hunny! You need is coast guards, not hospital." continued further by the rude nurse.

It was already too much…

Such rudeness and impudence were never been experienced by Alliyah in her entire life on the island.

There might have some grumpy old residents on their island but no one was close enough to be as rude as the nurse.

Alliyah knew the consequence of attacking the nurse or losing control in the hospital.

Once others find out that she is a vampire, her chances to find and be reunited with Areej will be zero.

So Alliyah summoned all her patience and kept all her anger bottled up…

And then the voice in her head suddenly appeared.

[*** Do you want to activate -Hunt-? Yes or No? ***]

[*** How about Super Strength? Yes or No? ***]

'Why the hell are you even in my head? When I needed you, where were you?! You are not even helping me at all?' Alliyah agitatedly informed the voice inside her head which is her system.

While Alliyah was momentarily pre-occupied with her system, the nurse was observing Alliyah and see her clenching her fist. She could even see her clothes tattered and suspiciously too manly for her taste.

"If you have nothing else to ask aside from your possible dead little sister. I suggest you go ask for coastal guards to help you instead." Unsolicited advice of the nurse to Alliyah.

Then Alliyah just snapped…

She may not have succumbed to her vampiric nature, but it did not stop her from grabbing the nurse's hair and banging it on the wooden desk.

A loud bang was heard which earned attention from the other nurses and medical staff.

The hair of the nurse was tightly grabbed by Alliyah. After banging it on the desk, Alliyah was not finished with her and dragged the nurse to her side.

Since Alliyah refused to use her super-strength, only half of her strength was used in pulling the hair of the nurse. It was still enough for the nurse to get dragged by Alliyah.

"I was asking you nicely!" Alliyah pointed out to the nurse.

"Ahhhh! Heeelp!!" The nurse cowardly asked for help while holding on to her hair.

"You have no manners! No etiquette! You B-I-T**!" a clear anger in Alliyah's voice.

Before Alliyah could do worst to the nurse, the male medical staff held Alliyah away from the nurse.

The situation was mediated by the current supervisor and apologized to Alliyah for the behavior showed by the previous nurse.

After the supervisor diffusing the situation, Alliyah was informed that there was no patient admitted based on Alliyah's description. She was then referred to the other hospital. The supervisor called the other hospital and there was no patient as well was admitted based on Alliyah's description.

Alliyah left the hospital desperate and heartbroken.

Panic settled in Alliyah's senses and could not comprehend what to do next.

"Let's find your little sister!" said by Joe.

A gleam of hope was in Alliyah's eyes and stood immediately by the mention that Joe will help her find Areej.

"We will rest for tonight and tomorrow we will head to the hospital near the docks. But it is only known to hunters like me because it is a special hospital not publicly available for everyone. It was built to cater for the needs for the soldiers and hunters, not normal citizens." Further explained by Joe.

"So w-where will we stay for tonight?" asked by Alliyah.

"In my place, we will be sharing one bed though. I do not have a couch nor other foam. One room, one bed. So start moving your ass." Joe started walking.

Alliyah gulped at the thought that she will be sharing one bed and one room with a man,

Especially with a stranger.
