31 Hunting is Hunting: Chapter 30

As he grips down on the blade, stuck to the ground filled with rust and dirt. His hand starts to pull on, with each inch of steel expose to the warm light of the sun. His eyes remain locked to the very metal exposed to the bright light, never looking away as if he wasn't bothered by this light.

His intentions for today that was the same as yesterday, to train the only swordsmanship he had at the moment.

But his mind was at conflict at the moment.

It has been 2 hours since he yet to meet another person in the very same gate as yesterday, where he was looking for an abandoned blade in this open world with only his intentions to train. With an indifferent look throughout his way here, the very name of a certain person never left his mind.

'Ranzy Savez'

The thought of this person never really riled him up or anything, it was a just a simple thought that lead towards curiosity.

'She was in the book…maybe she was…and I forgot' is what he thought at that moment.

The Character known as Ranzy Volde Savez was mentioned in the book but Hamil wasn't sure of this. He wasn't too proud of his memory even as a fan of the book 'The Mystic Royal Life.' his mind could never picture the perfect placement of events but he was confident that he knew the main plot points of the story as well as each character that had a role to play for the Story to play out.

But he didn't knew Ranzy wasn't one of those Characters. Characters that had value to the story.

She was a Mob Character. A character whose only purpose was to support another certain character in the book. She was introduced as a part of a social Group in the Academy that was lead by a high-ranking noble whose name was Richard Vener Dickson, a side villain character that went against one of the main characters, Martha Deus Dottingham on her way to become one of the Top Students in her grade.

Ranzy Volde Savez was a Lackey to Richard Vener Dickson. That was her whole identity in the book.

Maybe she was just an additional character in the story that had its own line to follow. A rich noble, that's what she was…she wasn't integral to the story of the Royal Mystic Life. But Hamil wasn't certain of this.

This uncertainty led Hamil into conflict with his thoughts.

'If she plays herself into the story with my help, I'm worried it'll change the course of events.' is what he was thinking of, but a certain fact was placed in his mind. A reminder.

'But…I'm not sure if she even has the capability to change the course of the events…That was what Randull's Prophecy was meant for.'

'If she involves herself with the Main Characters then it'll probably change something for the worse…or maybe not…'

"It's all in the hands of Randull to begin with. He's the Demigod of Fate, The Destiny maker in this world. Everything was already laid out into plan…by his choice."

Randull itself was the only being to see what the future beholds, all he does is see into it and does everything he can to make sure Destiny is fulfilled…especially to the Main Characters of the Story.

As the mind of Hamil bends to the reliance of Randull's skill, then he no longer had a need to worry for the future events…not yet at least.

"If the time does come that something changes from the story…then I can only wish that it is on the peaceful side of things." he concluded that worrying for that future was not necessary as of the moment, what mattered today was the present.

So he pushed aside his worries and focused on the only one thing he needed to do as of today.

"Character Profile" he says as he finally gave up on the thought of worry.

"I should reach 55 percent by the end of the day I guess but…I can probably speed up the process with this." he said as he grabs for a simple item from his backpack.

"...A mana Potion. It can easily fill up my one circle in just a couple of seconds. With this, I can finish up this Swordsmanship and reach probably with more proficiency..."

A mana potion was a common item used by magic users inside gate, as a way to easily gain back the mana they used up. It was fairly priced about 2000 ence per bottle and was sold in every Merchant shop, especially in the Hunter's Association.

Right now, he had 7 bottles of mana potions in his bag. He splurged all of his earnings in Mana potions.

1 bottle = 10 mana points

5 mana points = A full state sword.

7 bottles = 70 mana points

70 mana points = 14 full state swords

In just a couple of minutes, he can easily attain 14 points into his mana objective.

And adding into account the nonstop use of mana for the whole day adds up to 20 fully stated mana swords.

It was simple math, but at the end of it all he would amount to 69 full states of mana coating

[AN:nice]

"If the math is right, I'll reach exactly 69 out of a 100 in full mana coating…but I need to reach 100 out of a 100 before the day ends. So I need 31 more mana points, that's fifteen and a half of mana potions…converting it by how many monsters I need to hunt goes up to 31 Goblins." is what he mumbled to himself while calculating the perfect amount for his needed hunt for the day.

And so it began.

A repetitive process of mana coating a sword into it's full state.

At first, Hamil didn't understood why he had to this but as time went by and as he went pass 50 times of fully coating a sword with mana, his mind becomes accustomed to the ways of mana usage.

In just one second, he could fully coat a sword in mana. Controlling mana was as simple as blinking to him by now, but that only applied to coating a weapon. The repetitive training of this process brought him the understanding of basic mana coating and how easily one could shape mana…and as he tried the 69th process, he did it without a sword.

All his training lead him to believe that this process was another step to becoming stronger, so he tested it out.

"...Hnn!"

Like the sound of a sharp object cutting through air, before his very eyes appeared the shape of a weapon.

"...amazing."

A sword made of mana.

He could feel it was powerful.

Just a swing of it could easily cut through rock like butter…yet as he touched the flat surface of the blade, he could feel it.

It was weak…feeble. Like a glass window being toppled with bricks, he could tell that at any minute, this sword would break.

It was a Glass Cannon.

"...amazing."

Still, his mind wasn't shocked of this result. Progress was still progress, and this whole day of training brought him to another step to becoming stronger.

"...Tsk. Looks like the sun is sitting." he said as he noticed the orange reflection towards the sky.

He decided to pack his things and hunt for today.

At night, everything was sensitive to danger. With monsters like Robin Wolves lurking to hunt prey by the trees and Goblins Hunting people by the shrubs…that was for hunters to worry about. But for Hamil, this was a chance.

He had a plan. A plan to fully master this Basic Swordsmanship.

Usually hunter's pack things like unscented food that was packed with nutrients to avoid the sensitive smells of Robin Wolves but Hamil had the idea to use this fact as a way to lure in monsters.

"...I'll use this chance to cook up some dead monsters and bring them here all at once."

But he needed to hunt one first.

Luckily, one monster was already close by, a monster that was eagerly curious to what a certain hunter was doing all day.

A curious Goblin who was observing the Hunter from a high up tree.

"Lets see how sharp this mana sword really is." he said as he manifested his recently achieved skill.

"Hnn!"

And out of nowhere, a sword manifested in his hand.

He walked up to a certain unsuspecting tree and with a simple swing of his arm, the tree shook, it rattled and finally it falls.

Up above, a certain goblin was shrieking in fear as he noticed his impending doom.

"KRAAAAA!!!!" shouted the Goblin as he felt the wind of his falling stature.

*Doom!* as the tree fell to the ground, Hamil walks to the point of it and sees the bleeding body of a shaking monster.

"kraa…" it sounded like he was calling for help but Hamil didn't understand his plea.

'Apolo' he said as he called out his black spear.

He stabs the monster in the skull and opens its heart to reveal a white mana core.

"...here we go."

As he salvages the core, he then proceeds to drag the monster's body to an open area and began to ready his fire.

He collected a few dry trees and started making a fire. By rubbing one dry wood to another with his strength and speed, in a matter of seconds he could already see smoke coming from the friction between those two wood.

In a matter of a minute, he created fire.

He brought it up to the dead body and proceeded to burn it down.

It didn't take long before it's entire body was engulfed in flames. He was surprised of how burnable bodies were, especially Goblins.

"Damn, the smell is unbearable. It was like burning down a pile of craps…it was rotting to say the least."

"...Any minute now."

Not long after, he could hear something rattling by the bushes…with his sense of hearing, he could tell it was a group of Robin Wolves growling at the sight of an open hunter.

".…" with Apolo in his hand, he waited for the monsters to strike.

~Howl~~~

One by one, these wolves began to howl as the moon starts to appear and the cold winds began it's deadly travel across the land.

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

~Swoosh~~

And finally it began.

His hunt for the day.

A swarm of Robin wolves came jumping off bushes, jumping off trees and jumping off the shadows like a pile of hummingbirds rushing towards a single flower.

His grip tightened even more as the wolves came closer and closer…until finally he made his swing.

Killing off the first closest Wolf by cutting off its head.

"Owk!!" the first monster shrieked from the unbelievable speed of that spear. Not even before landing on the ground did it notice its head floating around and turning to the very body it owned, flopping to the ground like a dead rat.

The first kill was done, and so he proceeded to rampage along the poor and weak monsters that only marched to their deaths.

One simple thrust was enough to kill one wolf.

"Lets make this quick." he said as he changed positions and aimed for the side that had the most monster's in his line of sight.

"!!" He meet eyes meet with the closest one. Without hesitation, he thrusted the spear straight to its head, following the other monsters that were just beyond his line of sight.

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

*Thud!*

Each monster fell to the ground at the simple thrust of a black spear.

Like a Gatling Gun continuously firing though a single area.

One by one, they fell at the very lost of each heartbeat.

It was too much for these monsters…not one survived, not one lived to warn it's pack. On this day these wolves were left with nothing but a black point coming towards their view. The black point of a black spear…as if a void appeared right before their very eyes.

It was a terrible merciless death.

As minutes passed, Hamil was left with nothing but piles of monsters laying lifelessly in the ground.

"...I feel like this is too much." he said as he finally noticed the effects of his attack.

"one…two…three…four" he then proceeded to count his hunt.

"ten…eleven…twelve…thirteen…"

"nineteen…twenty…twenty-one…"

"..twenty-five…twenty-six."

At the end, he was left with 26 Robin Wolves.

All with a hole out in their heads.

"...that's around 39,000 ences"

It was enough for the day.

All he had to do now was exchange it to the counter and come back to fully master his swordsmanship.

That was supposedly the plan…until he was meet with one ferocious beast.

~Growl!!!~

Its growl echoed throughout the forest.

At this moment, Hamil quickly halted his scavenge and faced the monster that was forcibly releasing it's bloodlust straight to the back of his neck.

".…Looks like mama wolf is angry."
