40 Celebration: Chapter 39

Somewhere inside the academy, four ominous looking people were sitting at a circular table. Of those four people, they arrange themselves in a way that they were sitting in the four delegate directions, From north to south and from east to west. These four people were on the topic of discussing a certain students profile. They just finished watching the recorded performance of the boy who showed a lot of potential and now it was on to the proceeding moment where they would evaluate his potential.

This particular boy was Hamil Crux.

"So, what do you think?" said the person who was sitting in the east side of the table.

"...His mana capacity is at two circles at most but that was only just the start of his breakthrough in the second circle. You know full well how the body has to adapt to the upcoming changes of a newly formed circle, its painful and numbing to a point that you couldn't even blame an S-rank hunter to take a day off from it. For him to have gone through that process and still take the exam means a lot of things…either he has a strong mentality over painful experiences and he could adapt as quickly or that the moment he fought the doll was his already weakest point and his full strength hasn't been shown yet." said the person who sat north of the table.

"That last part seems amazing if it was true." commented the man who sat in the west side.

"Hmm, two circles of mana in the first year. How many students had the same capacity as him this year?" questioned the man who sat in the south side of the table, as he tried to think through the many students who were exceptional this upcoming semester.

"...around fifteen students out of thousands. Fourteen of them are part of a high ranking social family." answered the man who sat in the east side of the table.

"So he's the only one who isn't in a noble family?" said the man in the west as he stated the obvious.

"Well…there is the Savez family that seems to act as his benefactor." replied the man in the east.

"But they've only met him around two weeks ago, that isn't enough time for them to cultivate his power." exclaimed the man who sat north.

"Didn't he tried to apply last year? Maybe he gained a lot of power from training for the past year." said the man from the south side as e tried to presume the reason for said powerful student.

"That would have explained his current strength…but the record shows that he also applied in today's year and the results of his profiles from a couple of months back were not comparable to the strength he showed today, not after the retaking." answered the man from the east yet again.

"So in just a couple of months he was able to show such impressive change." complimented the man from the north side of the table

"As shown by his academic results, him being part of the top 20 students to be academically inclined and for his strength that hasn't even fully been shown, where do you think we should put him in?" asked the man from the east as he tried to ask for suggestions from each person that was sitting at that table.

"Shouldn't we put him in the same class as Ranzy Savez?" suggested the man from the west side of the table.

"...Hmm that may be beneficial for both him and Miss Ranzy." said the man from the north side.

"Which class was she in again?" said the man from the south side of the table.

"Class A, the one where a Dottingham bloodline is even part of that class and so is a Dickson bloodline…ugh, saying these two names being in the same class makes my stomach churn." said the man from the east, as he shown sheer worry over his statement.

"Did we really have to stuck these two families in one class?" asked the man from the west as he too showed worry from those said families.

"...We had too, it was a request from the Dickson family." said the man from the north as he tried to exclaim a clear show of acceptance on their situation.

"Ugh…anyway, is it decided that we put this boy in that class?" said the man from the east as he tried to put the subject back to its place.

"Hmm, I don't really see any problems with this choice." said the man from the south.

"Is there any objections?" asked the man from the north.

"Well if no one has a suggestion then I have one...What about the other class sections?" said the man from the east side of the table, clearly showing a confident tell of expression. Like a business man who was about to show an good idea through its boss.

"What about them?" asked the man from the north side.

"Seeing as how if we place this boy into the Class A section, wouldn't there be conflicts in the balance of power for each sections?" said the man from the east side of the table, as he tried to presume a possible problem for the upcoming year.

"A balance of power? What do you mean by that?"

"Since last year one student has dominated the ranking of the second year students…We decided that he was put into the Class-A section and this decision lead to them ever so in the leading factor that caused turmoil and conflict in the second year students. I have received complaints over and over again from concerning noble families on why that student was not placed in the weaker sections, why no balance in the sections was held."

"If your interpreting that we try to encourage balance into each class sections by power, wouldn't this whole ordeal change the sections that were already finalized? We've already assigned each student to each section. From Class A to Class F, students have always been routed to be mingled in different harmonies. We mix nobles and commoners alike because it encourages the idea of equality of positions in life…that's how it was always done since the day this school was managed by the Grand-Elder of the Academy." explained the man from the north side of the table.

I can say that throughout the lives of those students, I've seen a clear difference in strength as a group and as an individual. Some are talented in the different aspects of life, others compete to be the best at one similar thing but the one thing that clearly triumphs over everything was their show of work to be the best. A show of work shows progress in life, it depends on the student whether or not they should work to be the best." said the man from the south side of the table as he tried to make a point clear to the man who sat east side of the table.

"Exactly! A person with the will to be better can overcome the differences but…there are some aspects in life that needs to be considered a cheat. Some people are better than others no matter how much you compare them in so many aspects in life." said the man from the east side as he tried to give a contradiction towards the statement.

"If you're talking about Arthur Rhodenfield then…I guess we can consider that balance needs to be laid attention to the special folk. He's shown tremendous growth and accomplishments in the past year…but this goes against our other vision in life. To attain progress no matter what." said the man who sat north of the table.

"..." the man who contradicted stayed silent over the reminder of their vision.

"Although we have failed to align him in the weaker class, he has shown a lot of progress because he was put into the first class." said the man from south.

"Then how should we decide where we should place this boy then?"asked the man who sat west-side of the table.

"I've compiled the data needed for a clear comparison for each class sections. As what I've read, it seems that only class A and Class B are at tie with each other on the power scale between the students, while class C to F all seems to be lacking." Explained the man from the east side of the table.

"Do you have a suggestion on where he should be placed then?" asked the man from north.

"...I suggest Class C."

"Why?"

"Although Class A and B seems to be at the same level, Class D, E and F all seemed to have the same level of potential but not as powerful as the first two. Class C on the other hand seems to have fallen behind in all of those classes.

"Are there any students there that shows any potential at all?" asked the man from south.

"there are some students that caught my attention...Two noble names are placed their and both seems to have two circles of magic, but their physical ability to fight is not something one can expect from what a two circle student could usually do..they are for some reason subpar. They barely made it through the physical test against the D-ranked Combat Doll. There's also a student that was once a noble blood but fell and is now working for a scholarship. Although her scholastic capabilities are in the top 15, her physical capability is also subpar…she made it through the physical test through sheer luck…its what looked like on her performance in the video. There's also a student that has a high potential to be a S-rank hunter but his scholastic ability is subpar." said the man from east side of the table.

"..."

"..."

"...Okay then…it seems as though you have put a lot of effort in looking through this matter."

"I did and although I too believe that progress is key to our future…It feels unfair for some students to fall behind the shadow of a talented child. Noble or not."

"So you wish for every student to climb the chance of progress."

"Yes."

"Okay then,We have two choices, one is for Hamil Crux to be placed in the C class and the other is for him to be put in the A class."

"Raise your hand if you think he belongs in the C section and lay them down if you think he should be placed in the A section."

".…"

".…"

".…"

"Okay then, Its decided." as the man from the north side of the table said this, he raised up a stamp from his table and pressed on the profile on Hamil Crux, finalizing the very class he will attend in a week by now.

Meanwhile outside the academy and in the territory of the Savez family, one particular boy who was the main discussion between those four figures was nervously meet with an array of maids that lined up all to greet him and the lady that stood beside him who simply smiled over the reaction the boy gave out..

""Welcome Home, Miss Ranzy.""

"..." from this standpoint, Hamil could do nothing but stand in awe over the sight that was before him.

Inside the Savez territory, the very house that Ranzy lived in was by no means an exaggeration when one comes to say that it was a mansion that spanned like a castle. Being a family that mainly handled resources of rare gate materials, the show of their exotic taste in both interior and exterior landscape of the mansion mainly showed different varieties of resources from different gates alike. It was designed to look so exotic but so beautiful at the same time, that you wouldn't complain how this family used such materials in a way.

From the landscape itself was a lakeside with a garden that showed different forms of exotic and bewildering animals with flowers alike. Hamil couldn't say that this was no ordinary mansion fit for just any type of family. It wasn't nearly comparable to the houses of the rich families he knew from his past life.

This whole ordeal of him standing in front of the Savez territory all started way back after he just finished the retaking of his exam. At that moment, Ranzy promised him that a celebration was necessary in hopes of the praise Hamil got for his performance. Hearing this from Ranzy, Hamil thought that maybe the celebration they were going to was just a simple congratulatory bar party or something…he didn't take count that by no means did Ranzy implied him to be going to her territory.

And so, by now Hamil stood face to face with dozens of maids that came to greet the lady of the house.

Shock and awe was all he could express in that moment.

"...hmm."

"Are you nervous?" asked Ranzy as she could see Hamil nervously standing around with his arms crossed. This was a clear first sign that Hamil wasn't really comfortable with this moment. Seeing this, she tried to assure him that he has nothing to be worried about.

"This is quite something." said Hamil as he could see that over the dozen maids that stood before him, not one was least beautiful than the next.

"You don't have to be nervous about anything, we're here to celebrate if nothing else and also you will have to meet my parents in hopes to gain their approval of you being my partner throughout the school years."

"...What?"

Suddenly the door at the entrance opened and showed three people who stood by the very mansion they owned.

One was a man in his thirties who stood while he exerted a tremendous aura of authority. His hair was brown and his eyes were blue and just as similar as that of her daughter. He wore over what seemed to be a black suit that showed a menacing impression towards Hamil.

Next to the man was a woman of beauty that stood with such elegance, none could complain if she herself was a goddess. Her symbolic wavy orange hair would sway at every step she made with her silk emerald dress that matched with her emerald eyes signified the very symbol of grace just from her gaze, her smooth and pure white skin too was quite elegant to look at, as if she herself was the very definition of autumn.

Lastly, a small little girl was standing side by side with the woman with both their hands clinched together. She stood with somewhat a simple posture while looking over the two with a somewhat curious look. One could say that herself was only around 6 years old that looked exactly like the woman she held on to but more on the pure and innocent side of age.

These three people stood face to face against Hamil and Ranzy and seeing there appearance, Hamil could only assume that they were the family members of the Savez family. The parents and sister of Ranzy Volde Savez herself.

As they stood at the entrance, Hamil could do nothing in the situation but wait for Ranzy to take the lead. Knowing this, he turned to look to Ranzy and tried to see what she was going to do now.

"Hello Mom and Dad." said Ranzy as she greeted her parents.

"Welcome back dear." her mother smiled as she greeted back her daughter.

"Hmm." while her father simply nodded on her arrival.

"Welcome Home Ran-ran!" said the little girl as she smiled and waved her hand to her sister.

In response to this, Ranzy smiled back at her and waved her arms while slowly walking up to her parents. Hamil on the other hand stayed in place while he watch the Savez family stood side by side.

"You must be the boy who saved our little girl? Thank you so much for keeping her safe back then at the gate." suddenly the lady of the Savez family calls out to Hamil and in response to this, Hamil simply bowed towards the Royal family and said his piece.

"Your welcome, but I was just simply passing by when I did save her." said Hamil as he tried to be humble towards his past actions.

"May we know your name?" asked the lady.

"Hamil Crux and it is a pleasure to meet the parents of my benefactor."

"Ah yes, we heard you were recruited by Ranzy to be part of her social group." said the man who stood beside the lady.

"That I am."

"Were you aware that you are the first member of her social group?"

"That…I am also aware of."

"Hmm…I see. please come inside and join us for dinner." as her father said this, the whole family started walking back inside the mansion.

Hamil along with Henry by his side, followed them at their pace as they walk inside the mansion.

What awaited him next was simple nerve wracking since he couldn't expect what was to come of this unexpected event.
