Chapter 91

After Grey and the three lieutenants finished their fight in the forest, they met the rest of Team 2 and proceeded to go into a secret camp deep inside the forest.

The camp was a medical outpost where the some of the most important military human resources could be found, Life special affinity mages.

"Lieutenant, it should take about 2 to 3 hours for 2nd Lt John Ward to recover his leg, such an injury is not difficult to fix, at least it is easier to deal with when compared to healing someone with a punctured lung or ruptured liver."

A tier 2 female mage wearing Arin's military medical uniform explained the status of the injured John to the team leader of Team 2, Qila Stein.

Some of the team were a small distance from the conversation, but they could still hear the conversation with their awareness.

"Thank you lieutenant."

Qila thanked the tier 2 Life special affinity mage, not just for treating John, but for all of the team members who were injured.

Qila had some bandages that covered some of the scratches she got during the fight, Abe Kohler and Ilse Louis needed to rest after over using their mana.

But the most injured of the team was June, John only got his leg cut off, but she had multiple bone fractures all over her body, her reckless behaviour had finally paid off.

Even though John had been protecting her during the fight, that did not mean she would not be targeted, especially when she was rushing to the front.

When Qila saw June, she just shrugged, it was her responsibility to look after her subordinates.

However Qila had stopped caring about June because her reckless behaviour might endanger the rest of the team.

Qila would rather have June die alone, than get dragged down with her.

Thus she did not even ask about her, but instead after about John who had performed very well during the prevous fight.

"Get some rest, we will continue our advance when Lt Ward has recovered."

Qila came to the rest of the team, with June and John under medical care, it was only the tier 1 mages.

The tier 1 mages started to disperse under the order of their lieutenant.

"Recruit Grey, I want to talk to you. Follow me to my tent."

Before they could fully disperse, Qila had other orders for Grey.

The team members all had different thoughts as to why Qila would summon Grey to her private tent.

Abe Kohler had a silly smile on his face as he looked at Grey and Qila as they disappeared inside of Qila's tent.

"Hey, do you think there is a special relationship between Lt Stein and Grey, like the physical contact type?"

Kohler spoke in a low voice as he voiced his curiosity towards Sharon and Ilse.

The two did not answer the big fellow, but they had thoughtful looks on their faces.

Inside of Qila's tent, the two people sat whilst staring at each other, with Qila seating behind a table and Grey across it.

The tent for a lieutenant was big enough to house a table and a sleeping area if required.

Qila started the conversation with a weird question.

"Between 18 and 19 years of age."

From Grey's observation, people like Percival, June and Qila were new lieutenants, they got to tier 2 faster due to the use of magic crystals.

Thus they were young, thus there was no big age difference between Grey and Qila, in the standards of this magic world, the 15 year old Grey and Qila were peers.

"Eighteen actually, in all of my young life as a mage, it was my first time seeing a tier 1 mage defeating a tier 2 mage."

Qila paused to think of the words she just said, she was still surprised every time she remembered the tier 1 Grey killing a tier 2 mage.

"This shows how talented you are, what method you used to incapacitate those mages, I don't want to know about it."

Grey nodded, from Grey's observation of Qila, she was not one to pry too much into people's matters.

'The reason she called me here means that the matter involves her.'

Grey quietly observed Qila as she continued to talk.

"Your Performance was brilliant. I am sure in time, you will become a strong figure in the military. I wanted to be the first to recognise your ability. I have recommended you to get Military Decorations, as a mage who killed a tier 2 mage as a tier 1 mage and saved three other tier 2 mages, I am sure you will get the Medal."

"Mam, I understand."

Qila chuckled as she saw that Grey remained calm, even when he heard that he would be getting a military decoration.

"That is the reason I like you Grey, always calm even in situations where any other soldier would show excitement. However after some observations, I have seen that you have had contact with Captain Ignocia, that must be for a special reason. I have had the reason for your recommendation to be a Class 2 classified military secret, because I believe the reason you met the Captain might tie into your magic ability."

"I understand Lieutenant Stein."

"It is the best I can do, the reason for your recommendation can only be viewed by Captain Rank or higher individuals."

"Thank you for the report Mam."

Grey stood up with a calm face, but he did not leave, Qila could feel that Grey's mana was rousing, meaning that he was casting a few spells.

"Mam, permission to speak freely?"

"Granted."

Qila said with curiosity shown on her black eyes.

"Qila, I have heard and seen your fondness towards me, and I am inclined to say that I am also very attracted to you too."

Qila chuckled.

"Was I so obvious?"

Grey did not respond to her, he just moved behind her table and pulled her chair so that she faced him.

Grey lifted her chin with his hand and looked deeply into her black eyes as she looked into his blue eyes.

Qila stood up from her chair as they looked into each other's eyes, she pull the pin that held her short blond hair allowing it to drop freely.

The two stared into each other's eyes for a full minute, it was as if they were trying to guess what the other party was thinking.

Qila looked at Grey for a few seconds trying to understand his words before pulling him into a kiss.

This time their clothes did not manage to stay on their bodies because as much as Grey wanted to have sex, it was the same for her.
