In the centre of the Dralia Mountain Range, the sound of fighting was the only sound that could be head.
The sounds of lighting and thunder created by the [Silver Maelstrom Legion] were the loudest of the explosions happening.
A mage team, or at least what was left of it, wearing the military uniform of Arin were fighting for their lives in a highly mobile fight against their Ruhenese counter parts.
A red haired young woman with blood bleeding from her arm and part of her head was fighting against two mages at the same time.
The woman had been suppressed for a long time, and it was possible to see that she was on her last leg when she asked for back up.
The young woman had a serious face, her red hair which was cut short flowed in the air with.
The woman could not be called beautiful, but her serious face with freckles and her red hair gave her a special charm that could not be disregarded.
However the arrival of a blond haired woman gave her a chance, the red haired woman casted tier 1 spell, [Distortion Air Wave] to restrict her enemies to give her some time.
"Scarlet be ready!"
The blond haired young woman shouted with a serious face, this young woman would not give the female royals in terms of beauty, but as a commoner person she was very beautiful.
The blond haired woman shouted as she casted tier 1 combination spell, [High Pressure Scalding Water Barrier].
Large amount of steam was released when the giant barrier of hot water got summoned in front of the bleeding Scarlet.

"The barrier is too strong!"
"Prepare for retaliation!"
Scarlet did not respond to Miranda's statement, she head the mages from Ruhen shouting something about the hot water barrier.
As soon as the barrier started to take the attacks that were suppressing her, she casted tier 1 combination spell, [Elemental Weapon Barrage].
Weapons made out of concentrated light and lighting elements were summoned around her, the weapons were targeted at the two mages who had been suppressing her.
The two mages from Ruhen had guessed the plan that Miranda and Scarlet, and had prepared defensive types spells.
However they would not have known that [Elemental Weapon Barrage] was made by spells that were strengthened by a magic ring.
Because of that, their defences were not enough to stop the elemental weapons from destroying their bodies as they were cut, stabbed and pierced by multiple attacks.
[Elemental Weapon Barrage] and [High Pressure Scalding Water Barrier] were very powerful spells as they were created by spells that were strengthened by a magic rings.
Scarlet nodded to Miranda, the war had made her more serious, whilst Miranda managed not get changed too much by the war.
"Hey! You two help me!"
Whilst the two were about to say something to each other, the last tier 1 member of the team shouted for help.
The one who asked for help was a blond male who could be considered handsome.
Scarlet and Miranda did not waste time, they had lost enough people in their team, if they lost more people, the team would not function properly.

"Are you injured William?"
Miranda asked with serious face.
"I am fine, but you sure took your time beautiful Miranda."
Miranda did not say anything to this previous classmate and now team member.
William Schulz's personality did not change much since the time they were in the academy, he only grew more taller and more handsome.
"We have to move from this position."
Miranda said with a serious face, this prompted William and Scarlet to get serious as well.
"It looks like the battle between the tier 2 mages will take longer."
Scarlet commented with a serious face.
"There is nothing we can do to help. I understand your thoughts Bennington."
William had a serious face, he might be playful, but that did not mean he was an idiot.
What this trio had learnt during their time after joining the war is that under normal situations, a tier 1 mage has no chance against a tier 2 mage.
Thus the three understood that they could not join the battle that their two lieutenants were fighting, unless they wanted to die.
The trio did not dilly dally as they ran at spell speed to get away from the fight.
The fear of death pushed them forward, like how Qila killed off the tier 1 mages after killing the tier lieutenants, the same could happen to them if their lieutenants died.
'I wonder what Grey would do in this situation.'
Miranda thought to herself as they moved, she felt Grey would do something to deal with their current situation
After a few minutes they stopped.
"We wait here for 10 minutes, if the lieutenants don't arrive then, we will continue moving to the rear."
Miranda ordered.
William dropped to the ground in tiredness.
PANT. PANT. PANT.
"How I miss the Academy, even camp Atlas was better than this situation, now I'm sure, I'm not suited for war."
William complained to the two girls that were staring at him.
William had joined the war at the same time as Grey and the other people from Team 2, he like Miranda, had gone to Camp Atlas.
Miranda and himself had been in the same team since the start, they together had supported each other, until a situation where it was only three people left in their initial team.
One of the two lieutenant that were fighting against the enemy tier 2 mage, was their lieutenant when they arrived in Camp Atlas.
William, Miranda and their lieutenant were the remnants of once 10 mage team that included civilian recruits, thus the two were familiar with each other.
Scarlet was not as lucky, the only remnant to her team was lieutenant Tris Packer, this meant that the rest of her team was dead, this included people like Leon.
The remnants of these teams were put together to form a new team of ten new mages that were deployed to position 2-003 after the Ruhenese retreated.
Like Team 2 who were following the [Inferno Storm Legion] and acting as supporters, their team were following trump card unit, [Silver Maelstrom Legion] and acting as supporters.
Their initial team of ten has been reduced to 5 members.
"What do you mean William?"
Scarlet asked with curiosity on her serious face,
"I am proud Magic Ring Master, I should be spending my time practising design, but here I am fighting to protect my life. I mean how else I am supposed to catch up to a genius like Christina, or that freak Grey."
William said with a straight face, like what he was saying was the truth.
The two girls nodded in understanding, they were close to Grey and they knew that he could be considered a freak by the standards of this magic world.
"William do you know that Scarlet here is Grey's subordinate?"
Miranda decided to play with the playful fellow.
"I think that was pretty obvious, the amount of difference she showed towards him was a lot."
The two girls nodded in understanding, William was still a tier 3 magic talent, there is no way he would not pick up on these points when they were shown in his face for multiple years.
Miranda had been counting the time they had been waiting in their position.
The were no signs of their superiors showing up, this was a bad indicator.
Battles amongst the tier 2 mages were not like battles amongst tier 4 mages where the battle can rage on for few hours, a 30 minutes battle can be considered normal.
William and Scarlet could see her serious face.
"We continue to retreat to the rear, as long we are safe, it's fine."
Miranda did not seem to care about the lives of their superiors, and she did not care, like Grey she was a pragmatic.
