88 Chapter 88

The four mages that were sieging Abe, Ilse and Sharon all felt the heavy threat that Grey had as he casted the twin combination spells.

The four were already feeling dread and despair when feeling the large amounts of accumulating mana.

"RETREAT!"

The female who killed Connor shouted at the top of her voice as she looked at Grey with great hate showing on her face.

The female felt humiliated because she was retreating from the person who killed someone she cared about.

But that humiliation did not prevent her mage intelligence from working, she knew she had to retreat.

As female shouted her retreat order, she summoned over a dozen giant black ice shields which rotated around her like planets around the sun.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The shields around her seemed to know when there was going to be a threat to her life.

The shields automatically oriented themselves in positions to stop multiple giant balls made of fire and light that target the woman.

These balls were made by Grey's spell, [Myriad Star Tempest] which represented the different types of stars in space.

Grey had focused the full power of the spell on the female because of the way she looked at him full of hate, he knew if he did not remove her, things might get problematic for him later on.

But the spell she used seemed heavily geared towards defence such that she survived.

However the same could not be said for her three teammates who got shredded by fast moving incinerating air generated by the [Multiple Inferno Twisters].

The female who was a woman who seemed in her late teens had her face scowl as she saw the body parts that represented her teammates all over the forest floor.

'I know your face, grey haired man, I will remember this act terror to me and my team members.'

The woman unsummoned her tier 1 combination spell, [Dark Elemental Ice Aegis Shield], which was a trump card meant to save her life.

The woman immediately casted a tier 1 movement type spell to run away without looking back.

"WOW GREY! Man you are powerful! Can you share your spells please!"

The big fellow Abe Kohler commented as Grey got closer to them him and two girls.

Grey did not comment on Abe's pure praise for him.

'It looks like we are losing in the tier 2 battlefront.'

Grey was observing the battle of the tier 2 mages that was happening a kilometre away, the tier 2 mages would not stop fighting because the tier 1 mages are done with their fight.

"Can you move?"

Grey asked Ilse, as the girl was practically on her knees breathing heavily, the girl was practically out of mana from the defence work Abe and herself had put up.

"No… I cannot…"

Ilse shook her head in rejection.

Grey wanted the three to chase and kill that woman who escaped.

That was because he would have to do something to help the tier 2 mages, and mainly because his intuition told him that if that woman escaped, she would definitely bring him problems.

"Grey, I know what you are thinking, but Ilse and Abe are very tired and have very little mana left to do anything."

Sharon looked at Grey's blue eyes and average face as she said out her piece.

As much as Sharon was grateful to Grey for saving their lives multiple times during the war, she would not allow him to endanger the Ilse's life.

Grey said nothing to her, he just nodded to her in understanding.

Grey looked into the forest, observing the direction where the fighting of the tier 2 mages was happening.

'Future Grey, I apologise for any trouble that girl brings to you in the future.'

Grey did a small apology as his intuition was now definitely sure that the woman who was now guaranteed to escape was going to give him trouble in the future.

"Retreat back a few kilometres from this position to reaccumulate mana, I will see what I can do to assist in that battle."

Grey immediately entered the forest after giving the three some orders.

"That guy is so cool, was he always like that during his time in the Academy?"

Abe Kohler asked Sharon and Ilse with shining eyes.

"Let's move out."

Sharon and Ilse did not answer him, Sharon just pointed that they should leave.

BOOOM! BOOM!

Grey disappeared into the thick forest of the Dralia Mountain Range moving to the source of the giant explosions happening.

When he was far away from where Abe and the rest could observe him Grey casted tier 1 combination spell, [Manipulative Reflective Light].

The spell had the ability to make him invisible and completely quiet and not produce sound.

Grey was not trained to be a concealment expert like Francesca but he was getting the hang of it, even when using the light and wind elements to the work.

June, Qila and John were still fighting the hard battle together like when the battle started, the three individuals moved together like a well oiled machine.

Unlike the earlier teams which were created at the start of the battle, like team 6 and team 9, which were given only a week of team training before being sent to battle.

These three people had been in the same team for four months, polishing their team work and discovering their individual habits.

John was the shield of the three mage team taking and absorbing all the beating, maybe that is the reason he is cowardly.

June was the spear of the of the team, giving out the highest offensive power.

Qila was the multipurpose machine, with both offense, defence and control in her hands.

'He looks like he is about to collapse.'

Grey observed the blood soaked John, the slightly chubby man was bleeding from his head but the biggest injury to the man was the bleeding leg stump where his right leg was.

However that did not deter the man as he controlled several ice sheets all around the battlefield whilst seating on another ice sheet which he used as transport.

John's control of the ice sheets could be considered to have reached the best in tier 2.

The chubby man used the ice sheets to defend the three mage team and restrict the enemy from pushing in too much.

The fact that John was defending and control the field meant that June and Qila were completely free to rain down destruction.

June was at the very front even as John told her otherwise, Grey watched in awe as the reckless girl summoned giant birds made of fire and light elements and sent them towards the Ruhenese.

BOOOM! BOOM! BOOOM!

'I guess those birds must exist in this world, but I wonder why they look like bald eagles.'

Grey turned to look at their lieutenant, as much as she was excited about fighting the Ruhenese, she was not reckless like June and stayed behind John.

Qila was surrounded by multiple giant black spheres that seemed to orbit around her, when Grey looked at those black spheres he felt a small amount of dread.

BOOOM!

Qila would launch those spheres at any points when she felt the need, those spheres would explode in giant explosions releasing large amounts of lighting bolts in all directions striking anything close.

However with even with all their fire power and talent, their opponents were not any less good as the three mage team from Arin.

Their counterparts from Ruhen were able to defend against these deadly attacks as they had three defensive mages focusing on defence.

The three other mages we all free to attack, they were the reason John quickly got injured even with his top tier ability with ice magic.

'Let's get to work, I cannot let any of them die, to have a better survival rate when I reach Edward's Crevasse, the tier 2 mages must be alive.'

Grey had observed the battle long enough, he quickly ran towards a giant tree in the forest whilst casting tier 1 combination spell, [Voice Transmission].

"Heavily protect yourselves in 10 seconds."
