"Good spell recruit Grey!"
The small statured lieutenant shouted towards Grey from the front as mana accumulated in her small body as she prepared her opening salvo.
The new team members that did not know of Grey's full ability were shocked, the ones who were shocked the most were Abe Kohler and the last new team member, Caroline Spring.
Their two faces showed how much they were shocked, they knew that that Grey could double cast from their team spars and practice sessions, but it was their first time seeing such ability.
The rest of the team whether from the old team 6 or team 9 were aware of his ability to create new spells, thus they just shrugged.
Qila broke through the forest at a fast speed.
"WHAT?!"
Shouted the Ruhenese mages as they were not expecting her entry.
Immediately after she got visual on the enemy she summoned over a dozen large serpents made of lighting and water.
The serpents were very imposing with their giant heads and several metres of length and thickness, they were launched towards the tier 2 mages of the enemy team.
The water and lighting serpents was a result of the tier 2 combination spell, [Ancestral Lighting Ocean Serpents].
However it was not only Qila that used the opening salvo of spell to heavy damage on the enemies, June casted tier 2 combination spell, [Twin Sun Extermination].
Two giant balls of fire and light several metres in diameter were summoned around her as if she was a sun goddess.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Multiple explosions happened as those spells went towards the enemy, some spells were defended against with defensive spells whilst some were dodged.
"Expect retaliation!"
"I have it covered lieutenant!"
John responded with a serious face, he might be cowardly, but he was still an elite mage, he casted tier 2 combination spell, [Greater Maximised Water Wall].
BOOOM! SPLASH! BOOM! SPLASH
Immediately after the several metre thick water wall was summoned, it was hit by multiple spells with steam coming out from it, Qila, John and June hid behind the wall.
As the big explosions were happening Grey broke through the smoke, dust and debris made from the power of the spells, he immediately spotted a few dead bodies of their enemies.
Grey even saw three corpses that were burnt beyond recognition that were in a circular crater, they were definitely killed by [Explosion].
'[Explosion] is really powerful, the strong mage body was practically turned to concentrated carbon from the power of the spell.'
Grey even saw other bodies that were the result of Qila and June's spells.
Only the best of the Ruhenese team were able to respond appropriately after getting surprised by the team which they thought would not engage in a frontal assault.
How could they have expected Qila to behave in such an unorthodox manner.
'20 enemies still alive and 8 dead bodies on the field, together with the two that were killed by Louis and Kohler. A full team of 30 mages, they must have gotten together when they were escaping the fire those people from the [Inferno Storm Legion] created.'
Grey immediately counted the number of the enemy side, six tier 2 mages and fourteen tier 1 mages.
'Before the enemy notice [Light Guidance Domain], I have to use it to increase our advantage.'
Grey critically observed the battlefield for easy kills, once he found them he casted tier 1 combination spell, [Scattered Laser Beam Shots].
Whilst the enemy was still shocked due to [Explosion] and the two spells that followed afterwards, [Ancestral Lighting Ocean Serpents] and [Twin Sun Extermination].
The battlefield was rocked by white rays of light that seemed to materialise from nothing and target the Ruhenese soldiers.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Where are these coming from!"
"They are similar to the pillar of fire and light!"
"Be careful don't get hit by them, they pack a punch!"
Whilst it seemed that the spells targeted every person, the white rays mainly focused on those Grey considered easy kills, Grey wanted to create a small chaotic situation.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"It looks like there is a person who is using a method to have spells materialise in certain distance from them!"
Whilst the white laser beams were creating chaos, a shout was head from the enemy side, Grey immediately deactivated [Light Guidance Domain].
Mages were intelligent people, it would not take long for them to notice that there was something wrong around them, they would spot the [Light Guidance Domain].
That could then be used to track Grey and that would get him in serious trouble as he could be focused fired, and Grey knows that nobody likes being focused fired.
'The awareness of tier 2 mages never stops surprising me, but the damage is done, with the enemies that are left, even if we get casualties, the whole team won't get wiped.'
Grey had killed three of the six mages that he had designated as easy kills.
Seven tier 1 mages versus eleven tier 1 mages and three tier 2 mages versus six tier 2 mages.
Grey saw Qila mouth something to him.
"'Don't die' huh?"
Grey did not get a chance to respond as the battle started in ernest, the nine tier 2 mages exchanged spells with great power shaking the forest.
The same thing happened with the tier 1 mages, Caroline, Abe and Ilse focused on defence and control whilst Connor, Sharon and Silica focused on offence.
Grey moved alone to do the so called heavy lifting as he fought three tier 1 mages at the same time.
The battle raged on for ten minutes, the place around where the battle started had already been reduced to a clear spot in the forest, small fires were happening around the battlefield as well.
The first person to get a break was Grey as he killed a male mage with tier 1 combination spell, [Ultrasonic Deep Drill], the mage had blood pour out of his orifices, it was a bloody mess.
Since Grey was not far away from the battlefield he could not use a Destroyer type spell to end the battle quick, he had to wait until a person made a mistake, and the mistake did pop up.
"Johan!"
A female who was fighting the rest of the tier 1 mages from Arin shouted with hate on her face, the female glanced at a male teammate who nodded to her with a resolute face.
The man intentionally made a mistake to bait some members of Team 2, and someone took the bait, Connor Lindberg did.
Connor casted tier 1 spell, [Light Shuriken Punishment] targeting the man.
The spell was had quick cast time made to punish someone who made a mistake during high intensity battle.
Over a dozen Shurikens made of light elements targeted the man with the intention to kill.
However the man did a weird quick doge to the side, opening the path for tier 1 combination spell, [Acidic Water Cannon].
"Huh?"
Connor looked in horror as a giant hole was made through his chest.
"AGHH!"
The man did not retreat without injury, he had lost his arm, during the dodge, one Shuriken still cut off his arm.
The death of Connor was not Grey's problem as he still had two people to kill.
Grey would kill the two people in a quicker time, but the death of Connor had reduced the offensive power of the tier 1 mages.
This had lead to the deaths of Caroline and Silica, but the tier 1 mages had killed 4 enemy mages in response, this was mainly because of the powerful teamwork of Sharon and Ilse.
"Grey!"
The big fellow, Abe Kohler, shouted as he saw Grey come back.
Abe, Sharon and Ilse were incurring the suppression of four enemy mages, it was because of Abe and Ilse's defensive elements that they managed to hold out.
Grey casted twin combination spells, [Myriad Star Tempest] and [Multiple Inferno Twisters].
