26 Imperial (2)

Nathan had to stand there for the rest of the day as he patiently watched all the teenagers get evaluated.

Many would barely have any magical talent or their ki potential was very low. Those mainly went to the smaller academies and had nearly 5,000 students joined these.

As for the big 3, they were much more selective with who they allowed within, especially the Imperial Academy and the MAA since they were international and were recruiting students all over the continent.

Each of those academies only took in 30 students total while the Royal academy took in 3 times as many and got 150. Although they were not international, they were not too worried about getting their students into their own nation.

Nathan did not really care about the cannon fodder though. Instead, his focus would switch between 'Sunia' and any students that were called golem knights candidates.

In total, there were 3 who each went to one of the big schools. The one who got invited to the Imperial Academy seemed like he was from a very powerful noble family.

Whether it was his clothes or the way the headteacher of the Royal Academy fought so had for him, it was clear that he did not want to lose such an important noble to the Imperial.

The signature that his mana was giving off did not give Nathan any feeling of danger so Nathan figured he was just some sheltered noble who would inherit an important position.

The rest of the day was very boring for Nathan. And during the entire period, he could not find an opportunity to speak with 'Sunia' or confirm it was really her so he could only hold in his questions until later.

Nicia, the elf teacher, gathered all of the new and old students with her as they left for the hotel that the group was staying at for the duration of the enrollment period that was located in the capital outer edges of the capital. Although they could afford better spots, they did not wish to be too close to the nobles and risk the safety of the students.

Any student who was had been staying in housing and had luggage to split off from the group and to go get whatever they need but had to be back at the hotel by nightfall.

It was during this time when everyone was breaking off, that Nathan had a chance to pass by 'Sunia' and whisper something in her ear.

He only whispered 3 words but words that would only mean anything to the pair of them.

As he passed her by and said the 3 words, the expression on 'Sunia's' face changed subtly but enough that Nathan knew he had the right person.

What he whispered was, "Corsair, Berus, Pisces."

Most Espers kept the name of their ACEs private and would not share it with anyone except for those that they trusted.

The only person that knew that she had named her ACE Corsair was Jalim/Nathan while the only person who knew the name of Berus was Sunia.

As for Pisces, it was the nickname that she had come up with for the pair. She said that they were like two pieces of the same thing that worked together perfectly and their legends would be written in the stars.

At first, Nathan thought that she was a fool but now, the nickname that the foolish girl had come up with in their previous life was useful.

Happy that he had confirmed his friend, the sides of his lips slightly lifted up for a moment before they returned to their normal flat form.

Nathan made his way to the Witch's Hut before picking up all of his luggage and making his way back to the hotel within an hour of when he left the group. Even then, he still did not see his aunt return.

'That old witch just wanted a free place to crash while she was in the capital. Cheapstake.'

When he arrived at the building, he was still surprised by it even though he had seen it several times before. He had seen more elegant or better-constructed buildings in his past life many times. But this building had a certain charm and pull to it.

'Must be because those guys from the empire stay here every year so they make sure that it is as comfortable as possible whenever they do.'

Nathan showed his crest to the guard at the entrance who pointed him in the right direction as well as gave him some information.

All the students would be staying in temporary dorms for the night before they would leave the city and head towards the school in the morning.

Each of the students had their own room and could do as they pleased in the city since they already checked in.

As long as the students were back in time for departure, Nicia did not care what they did and allowed them a large amount of freedom.

Nathan figured that there was nothing else he needed to do in the city so he decided to stay in his room and train.

Since he already confirmed Sunia's identity, he was not worried about speaking to her immediately and would take his time.

But that was only true on his side.

Because within 3 hours of his training, there was a knock on his door.

Curious as to who it was and knowing he was not in any danger, he met the frustrated eyes of 'Sunia' at his door.

The pair stared at each other for a few moments before the girl spoke up.

"Well? Are you going to let me in?"

He wordlessly stood aside and let his old friend into the room.
