29 Executioner vs Storm Ifrit

Nathan charged forward while dragging his sword behind him. In his eyes, his only goal was to defeat Stella while the other felt the same way.

Before Nathan could close the gap, several balls of lightning were shot towards Nathan.

As if he had suddenly gotten a boost, Nathan was able to perfectly dodge the balls without even slowing down. In fact, it seemed like he sped up.

This was due to him using his own martial art technique to increase his body's speed while his natural reaction speed was able to easily keep up with the lightning balls.

Stella had already expected Nathan to dodge the first attack so she followed up by using the [Flamethrower] spell.

This created a large wave of fire that covered a large portion of the stage. Nathan did not slow down but instead dodged toward the side as fast as he could to avoid the torrent of flames.

[Flamethrower] was also a low-tier spell. While it looked scary, it was only useful against targets who were unprepared or could not use magic. The flames were not more powerful than most normal flames.

Nathan dodged before charging through to Stella's surprise and attempted to cut her down. But like many mages, she had already set up her [Magic Barrier].

This was the most common spell among mages that was used to protect themselves. Many would use this spell after they had launched an attack or gained sufficient space but with Stella's back to back attacks, it should have been impossible for her to cast it.

As Nathan's sword bounced off the barrier, he did not back away but launched another swing while finally starting to use his ki.

A silver aura covered his sword as he tried to attack again but this time, his blade was stopped by an arrow of lightning crashing into it.

Several other lighting arrows were about to strike him but he used his blade to destroy them all but each blow pushed him further back from Stella and he was no longer in close range of her.

Stella's golden eyes smiled as she looked into Nathan's silver eyes. They said, 'I am awesome, aren't I?'

Nathan did not respond but instead continued to try and press forward. This time, Stella counters by using the mid-tier spell [Flight] to rise to over 15 meters in the air.

Nathan had no choice but to take the defensive route. He only knew a few techniques that allowed him to be airborne temporarily. He had to plan carefully but Stella would not give him the chance.

While she was flying in the air, she began to chant and cast spells to rain down on Nathan.

Blades of wind, arrows of lightning, flame bursts, earth spikes. Many low-tier spells filled the arena from both above and below Nathan.

The young students looked on in awe while the experienced magi had expected such an outcome. They had seen her do it before.

Nicia decided to explain what was going on to the students to dampen their spirits for now but also not have unrealistic expectations of themselves.

"Most people should not be able to cast spells so fast but Stella had two advantages that you all do not.

The first is her innate talent. She can cast fire and lightning spells with half the speed that others need while also having twice the amount of power.

But the second reason is a skill that she was born with. Stella has the ability to dual cast.

Magus can only cast one spell at a time. While many magic knights or mages use active-passive spells such as [Flight] and use other spells, this is not dual-casting but rapid casting.

Stella can truly form two separate spell matrixes at the same time and launch two different spells at once. This increases her firepower and combat ability by a large margin.

She is truly a prodigy that no one her age can match."

And that was almost exactly what was happening. Stella would cast a single spell and start casting the next while she was still in the middle of casting the first.

This way, by the time the first was done, the second would be halfway done and she could start the 3rd.

This would create an endless cycle that would cause most to be stuck on the defensive like Nathan was.

He could do nothing but dodge with his body while he also parried or blocked with his sword until he found an opening to strike at Stella with.

It took him 3 minutes but he finally found a gap in the assault. Without wasting any time, Nathan rushed forward and jumped into the air.

When Stella thought she had an opening, she saw that Nathan's eyes had turned gold similar to hers.

'So he knows about it too then? This might be bad.'

Stella launched two spells but before they crashed into Nathan, Nathan increased the amount of ki flowing through his body and did an air-step at the same time to burst through Stella's attack.

Nathan lifted the sword above his head as it was covered in a silver aura before bringing it down to cut his old friend in half.

But before the blade dropped, Nathan saw a soft and fair palm directly in front of his chest.

Nathan wanted to try and back away but it was too late to stop the inevitable. The palm landed on Nathan's chest and unleashed a large amount of mana crashed onto his bare chest and pushed Nathan away.

Nathan rolled through the air but landed safely on the ground. Unfortunately, he landed outside of the ring.

This match was Stella's victory.
