The Mage with an Existential Crisis (Hololive Fanfic)[Under Rewrite]

A story of old, wherein demons, magic, and all sorts of supernatural exists. A story that told about the truth of the world, uncovering its myths and mysteries. A story of an all powerful mage searching for his purpose in the vast world, searching, for a place to call home. A story where Hololive Idols are more than just idols. +----------------+ A/N: Yahallo! I have decided to post this here as well, since its what I'm currently writing upon. As for those who have read my previous books, whichever it is. I still haven't found a single ounce of motivation or ideas in my bones to continue them for now. I'll occassionally write on the drafts, but for now. I present you my latest work, I haven't seen much Hololive fanfics around, so I decided to make one. I don't own Hololive, the idols, or anything that may came along them. I only own my OC, and probably the plot(?). For those who are wondering if this is a harem or not. Big no. I can't write harems, as simple as that. Some Idols, or hololive girls might be a bit OOC/out of character since I'm not that good to perfectly imitate how they act. Hope you guys enjoy.

Prologue: A Tale as Old as Time.

3rd POV

A Thousand Years in the Future.

In a museum that is known for its old relics and artifacts.

A school tour was being held, in front of the class of kids is a blonde-haired woman, with a magnifying glass in her pocket. She stood there and stared at an old-looking ancient book artifact, incased with bullet and laser-proof glass.

The kids were curious as to why she was staring at it intently. One of them couldn't help but ask. "Are you okay miss?"

A cute little girl with pigtails on her hair asked. The blonde lady shook her head and patted the girl's head.

"Do you kids know what you are looking at?" The blonde lady asked, in return, she received a chorus of "no".

She chuckled at their cute response and told them to settle down.

"This book or rather an ancient book, you are all seeing in front of you, hold a very deep secret and story behind it." The kids "oohed" when they heard the words "story" and "secret".

"Long time ago, this belongs to a very powerful magician! He was so powerful that he can topple kingdoms with just a single spell, flatten whole mountain ranges with just a thought, and even burn the sea into a deserted wasteland with just a flick of his finger."

"Rumors also said that he can..." The blonde lady leaned closer to the kids and acted like she was telling them a very important secret.

"Control time itself."

"Whoa!"

"Awesome!"

"Come on teach, it's just an old tale."

"Yeah, no one can control time you know, that's ridiculous."

The blonde lady, now a teacher, chuckled at their reactions, some being awed, while others are skeptical.

One kid, however, has another question in his mind.

"But teach, if he is so strong, how did he die?" A boy with black hair and white streaks asked the blonde teacher shyly.

"Yeah! How can such an all mighty powerful magician can die just like that?" The one kid at the back with unruly hair shouted.

"Did I ever said he died?" Gasps can be heard at the sudden realization the blonde teacher laid upon them.

"You see, no one really knows what happened to him. In the legends, it was said he fought off against a great calamity, all on his own. A calamity that will exterminate all of the living creatures on our planet."

The blonde teacher continued her story, as the kids sat down on the floor, with their focus entirely on her. One can see in their eyes that they are enthralled, awed, and amazed.

"That's the World Rift Accident right teach?!" A curious and excited young girl with orange hair and pinkish streaks raised her hand and asked

The blonde teacher chuckled and nodded. "Yes Clara, it was the World Rift Accident."

"I remember my mom telling me that the World Rift Accident happened a thousand of years ago. Apparently, it came so fast and ended just as fast."

"Yes, your mom is right, but what other people don't know is that our powerful magician is the one who stopped it before it landed on our planet." This statement from the blonde teacher drew another bout of gasps and amazement amongst the kids. Especially the girl who raised her hand earlier.

"According to the legends, before even the calamity came, he was already there, waiting for it. He tried to warn people about the calamity but no one believed him. He fought it face on alone, atop a mountain so tall that it pierced through the clouds. Do you know what mountain I'm talking about kids?"

"Ooh! Ooh! I do! I do!" A girl with purple hair in pigtails along with a cute halo above her raised her hand.

"Yes, Coco?"

"It's the World's End Mountain!"

"Correct! But did you know that it has another name amongst mages?"

"Eh?!" The kids shouted in chorus before they leaned in with anticipation.

"Look at you guys getting all excited." The blonde teacher teased and laughed at the kids which made them pout.

"Alright, alright, before you throw a tantrum. World's End Mountain is also known as God's Altar because that's where the strongest and most powerful magician disappeared. A lot have argued that he is truly dead, but I don't agree with them."

"Why is that teach?"

"Because I believe that he is still alive and continues to protect us from threats that may come to our world."

All the kids were quiet and amazed, all of them forming an image of a silhouette of a person, standing atop the world's tallest mountain and facing a looming shadow from above.

"Isn't that right? Sensei?" The blonde lady smiled as she gazed at the ancient book inside the glass.

About a few meters behind the blonde lady and the kids was a janitor with a cap covering his face, mopping the floor and humming a cheerful tune.

As if he heard the blonde lady, the janitor stopped his actions for a bit before smiling underneath the cap.

"You never changed my little apprentice, you never changed."
