Chapter Eight

The lance eventually met with Psyx's chest, spearing through his heart. Blood splattered everywhere but it was soon corroded by the shadow magic lingering in the air after the spell had been cast. "What a unfortunate child he was" The shadow mage spoke in pity as he disappeared eerily into the darkness.

"So I'm dead...This is what it feels like to be dead....It feels...empty" Psyx said a s soon as he found himself in a space.....or rather void which was the colour of the darkest of the dark.

"Ding" a bell chimed

"Was that a bell?" Psyx asked no one in particular as he was the only one there

"ding ding ding ding...." the sound (the bell) suddenly started ringing continuosly. Psyx was so spooked that he could have peed and pooed on himself at the same time if he could have.

"Hahahahah...hahahah" A very loud and hearty laugh echoed throught out the void continuosy.

"Your life was the funniest ive ever seen kid...hahahahaha" the voice spoke and the continued "You death was the most hilarious 😂 one ive ever seen"

"W-Who's there....show yourself you c-coward" Psyx spoke stammering. "Am I gonna die a second time?"He thought to himself.

"Who are you calling a coward....huh....?" the voice spoke as a figure materailized in front of him (Psyx)

"Ain't I asking you a question, huh?"the figure spoke as it stood or rather floated in an intimidating stance.

"I-I'm s-so sorry sir..." Psyx said grovelling and shaking in fear.

"You have been forgiven...RISE" The figure spoke.

"I am Refid, the god of reincarnation. Address me as Refid-sama ('sama' is japanese for LORD. It is used after a name as in our case, LORD REFID) or I'll kill you a second time....Understood?"

"Y-Yes Refid-sama"

"Good. Now you died a death unbecoming of you, so i will give a reincarnation into another world but with a twist..."

"I will give you a cheat system, the best one of it's kind, now praise me"Refid said.

"A Cheat system!..." Psyx screamed in excitement. "But why?"

"Don't give me that shit. you actually deserve it, looking back at the way you died." Refid retorted.

"Yh I actually think so to Refid." Psyx said

"Who are you calling Refid. I'm Refid sama, or do you want to die a second time?"Refid spoke in an intimidating tone

"N-No Refid-sama" Psyx quickly corrected himself.

"Yeah yeah whatever.... you have been forgiven." "Now back to the cheat system, you will find out it's abilities yourself after you have been reincarnated..... I can't bore myself with explaining all that to you" Refid said in a condescending tone.

"It really is a cheat system....." Psyx was dumbfounded

"Well have it..." Refid spread out his hands and a multicolored glowing chess king piece floated out of his chest.

"Woooow...It's so cool..." Psyx admired

"Quit talking like that, it's giving me the creeps, yuck...." Refid reprimanded psyx

"Sorry Refid-sama" Psyx made sure to address Refid the god of reincarnation properly while apologizing.

"Now, be gone....you have entertained me enough" Refid spoke in a more condescending tone tis time.

The glowing chess piece floating in the void suddenly turned to spurt of light and made it's way into Psyx's chest. Psyx slowly lost consciousness.
