In peace not pieces
Sighing after four knocks at the door and when Keirah does not open after he knocks again, he hopes she is sound asleep and opens the door silently so as not to make the clicking noise with the door as it opens.
Luciano enters Keirah's room.
And to his surprise, she was not in the bed where he left her a few minutes ago when he went to get her food.
She must be in the bathroom, he thinks to himself. He puts the tray of food by the bedside and waits.
Five minutes. Ten minutes… What is she still doing in the bathroom? He wonders. Luciano walks to the bathroom and knocks. No movement.
He opens the door and stares into the empty bathroom.
She is not there.
“No… No…” Luciano shouts aloud, hoping what he is thinking is not true.
He runs off to see the front door from where he is, and the front door is open.
Keirah is gone….
Keirah escaped.
It is past midnight.
Why did she not wait to escape in the morning? He thinks to himself, feeling agitated.
