1 They MUST pay

"Mom! I am back." Little Summer ran into her mother open arms and hugged her so tight.

"My love." Helen muttered as she embraced her tightly.

"How was school today?" Helen as her daughter as they pulled away.

"School was fun, I had a lot of fun with my friends." Summer answered happily, making Helen smile.

"Go upstairs and wash up and come downstairs for dinner." Helen told her daughter who left for her room happily.

Helen took a deep breath in as she made her way to the kitchen to get her daughter's meal ready.

Little Summer washed up quickly and came downstairs immediately. By the time she reached the dining room, her mother was already seated waiting for her.

"Enjoy your food." Helen said after she finished dishing the food for her daughter. They both ate in silence.

Helen was lost in the past and how she ended up marrying David.

She and David met in college and became friends and from friends to lovers and then to life partners.

She remembered the first day she introduced David to her mom and how her mom hated him from the start without a valid reason. She claims he looked like those who work in the underworld but that wasn't true or so she thought.

It all happened on a fateful day when she and David went out on a date to a small restaurant. They had finished eating and were strolling along the streets when a convoy of cars pulled up in front.

"Oh sh*t!* She could remember David saying and turned to a different direction only for the men in the cars to chase them. Finally, they caught up with them.

She cried her eyes out, begging them to spare him, only if she knew that he was the boss' son.

"I don't know you madam but the boss wants his son back home." The man told her and her eyes widened.

What the heck?

David turned to look at her apologetically as he revealed everything to her there and then.

His father was a fucking mafia lord! And he was the next in line.

She felt angry and betrayed that he did not let her know all this while. She ran home sadly and cried her eyes out.

Weeks later, he came back apologizing to her and she accepted him all in the name of love but then her mother didn't.

His father told her all the dangers involved in marrying his son and yet she willingly accepted to marry David.

David was a mafia lord and nothing, not even her could change that fact.

Her father in law; Daniel, became so fond of her that he hired extra guards for her and her child; Summer.

"Mom!!" Summer yelled loudly at her mother who seemed to be too lost in deep thoughts.

"Oh, Summer, I am so sorry, I was thinking deeply." Helen told her daughter.

"I just wanted to tell you that the meal was fantastic and you are the best cook in the whole wide world." Summer exaggerated causing Helen to laugh but not for long because a knock was heard on the door.

Helen became security conscious, something did not sit right.

"Summer, go upstairs now." She ordered and Summer knew not to disobey.

Helen peeked through the curtains and saw the people she dreaded the most.

Finally they are here. She didn't know what her husband and father in law did to them but they had sworn that they would pay with her blood.

She wondered how they got into the main building considering the number of security guards her husband and father in law has placed on her.

Bracing herself, she decided to face her problem. She opened the door and a gun was pointed to her head immediately.

"Lie down now." A deep masculine voice commanded and she obeyed without hesitation.

"Finally!" Another man who seemed to be the boss walked up to her and squatted before her.

"David and Daniel are going to pay for their sins." He said, smiling like a devil.

"You know that if my husband catches you here then you are as good as dead." Helen threatened and she received a hot slap on her face.

"You still have the guts to speak. No wonder David fell in love with you, b*tch."

"Leave my mommy alone!!!" Summer yelled as she threw a flower vase at the man.

"What a little thing?" Another man picked Summer up with only one hand.

"Please let my daughter go." Helen cried out.

"I would pay you anything you want, just release my daughter. She knows nothing about this!" Helen pleaded.

"Anything?" The man asked as his eyes shone.

"Yes, anything." Helen concurred with tear filled eyes.

"Your wish is my command." The man said and right before Summer's eyes, Helen was shot straight at the head twice.

"No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Summer yelled with tears in her eyes.

**************

"Summer, Summer, wake up." Hazel shook the sleeping Summer that was having a nightmare as usual.

Summer opened her eyes with tears in them.

"No, not again." Hazel pleaded as she hugged Summer while she cried her eyes out.

"They are all going to pay for what they did to my mother. They MUST pay." Summer swore.
