1 Prologue

Jason fell to his knees as he watched his best friend's house disappear. He let out a harrowing sob and the rest of his world fell away into the darkness as he watched the house turn into ashes and the sky turn red with smoke.

If only he had not seen the paramedics as they carried out bodies wrapped in white sheets, he still hadn't reacted. He wished to have been the one that could have been dead and not for Selena.

" No, it can't be" he muttered to himself and moved backwards, not wanting to accept what was in front of him.

He ran towards the carried bodies and tried to uncover the burnt bodies, which were Selena's body, and was looking at the bodies. Jason could still not believe it was Selena until he recognized the bracelet he had gifted her on her 12th birthday, which she has never taken out ever since.

Jason's mother rushed to him as she noticed what he had witnessed. Jason clenched his eyes shut with his hands plastered over her face.

With his mother wrapping him in her arms, Jason still couldn't believe what was in front of him. Before the house could turn into charcoal, he quickly wheezed, fighting and making his way out of his mother's hold, and ran towards the burning house hoping he would find any souvenirs with him. He found a burnt album full of Selena and some few photos of her, which were half burnt and the rest went into ashes.
