Chapter Ten
As Lucas leaned in for the kiss, Isabella instinctively pulled back, her mind racing with confusion and fear. She couldn't deny the attraction she felt toward him, but she also couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye.
"I... I can't," Isabella stammered, stepping away from him. "There's too much going on right now, and I need to figure things out."Lucas's expression softened, and he reached out to gently cup her cheek.
"I understand, Isabella. Take all the time you need. Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what."Isabella nodded, her heart pounding in her chest.
She quickly made her way out of the study, feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of their encounter. As she exited the mansion, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.
