Chapter One

Remmington

Hi, my name is Remmington but people like to call me Remi for short, but here is a little background story so you can get to know me a little better.

I am a Twenty-One year old female living in New York with my mom Amara in a tiny two-bedroom studio apartment, we don't have a lot of money but we are not broke either. I work long hours at my job in Starbucks to pay the bills and put food on the table.

I grew up around rich people as I attended one of the most expensive schools here in New York before my father walked out on me and my mom, after my junior year I had to to say goodbye to my friends and transfer schools prior to my dad not paying my tuition and the expense of the school was way too much, my mom struggled a lot with money as she liked to party A LOT after my dad left.

I still keep in touch with my dad every now and again to see how he is doing with his new wife and step kids, I tell him about my mom and he does not feel bad for her because she was always out spending my dads money until he had enough of her. My dad sends me money each month to make sure I don't struggle to pay the bills or put food on the table. I had to take up extra shifts at my job as I felt bad for taking my dads money each month but he hated the idea of me working so hard.

I also visit him a couple times a month and I see him when he comes in to buy his coffee before work, his new wife Emryn is an amazing person, she is funny and always makes sure I feel welcome in their home in Long Island. My dad met her while she was working at his firm here in Manhattan and they just hit it off.

So yeah, that's a little story about me and how I grew up and where it has gotten me to this day.
