The Osbart Family Mansion

Elena opened the car window when the black iron gate with Osbart inscription in the middle opened. She stared in awe as the iron door split and the word OSBART split into two.

After looking around here and there, Elena still couldn't find where Elleard's house was. What she saw was still a wide expanse of grass and lush trees. She also couldn't ask Elleard because the car Elena was riding in was still different from the one the man was in.

For some reason, when Elena followed Elleard's wheelchair with the intention to get in the same car as him, the man ordered Elena to get into the other car. Elena couldn't understand it.

Didn't the man want to marry her? So, why was he still acting like he didn't want to be in the same space as her, like sharing a car together?

Elena glanced at the driver and wondered if she could get the man in all black to talk. Ahh.. she didn't think so. The man looked like a robot with no feelings. His face always looked stiff and cold without a smile. Elena finally decided to keep quiet and wait until the car actually took her to Elleard's house.

After their two cars drove for a while, Elena began to see a very a huge mansion in white in front of them. In the center of the courtyard was a large, circular ponr with a seven-tier fountain in the center.

Elena couldn't hide her admiration when her eyes saw how spacious and luxurious Elleard's residence was. She was sure that if she entered this mansion by herself, she would be lost.

Elena was still looking at the mansion in awe when the car door opened. The driver invited him down politely.

"We're here, Miss," he said.

Elena was still speechless. She got down slowly and after hitting the ground, she looked at Elleard who was already outside his car. The man's wheelchair moved smoothly up the ramp next to the big staircase that led to the front door.

Elena followed him by stepping up the stairs one after another next to the ramp. Her footsteps were very awkward because she still couldn't believe the place she had come to. It was so awkward. Elena almost tripped over the next step because her eyes weren't paying attention to the way.

"S-sorry..." she muttered as she grabbed the back of Elleard's wheelchair. The man was not angry. He stopped the wheel and waited for Elena to regain her balance. After making sure the woman was okay, Elleard continued moving.

Elena walked carefully, not wanting to trip. If that happened it would be very embarrassing. Her steps halted when she reached the top of the stairs. Two enormous double doors opened in front of them.

"Welcome, Master Elleard," said a middle-aged woman dressed very neatly in black. She bowed her head slightly.

On her nose perched round glasses that made her look very serious and smart. Behind her was a line of servants in black and white uniforms. They were all lining up as if welcoming Elena and Elleard.

"Hello, Samantha, this is Elena," said Elleard. He then turned to Elena. "Samantha has been my family's trusted head of staff since I was little. She knows best about everything in this house. She will take care of you."

"Good evening, Miss Elena, nice to meet you," Samantha smiled sweetly at Elena. Her warm welcome made Elena's awkwardness subside a little. He nodded at Samantha.

"N-nice to meet you too, Samantha," said Elena. Her vision blurred when she saw the contents of the house which was so spacious and luxurious and the rows of servants who greeted her and Elleard.

Not only did Elleard have a head of staff, also known as a butler, chauffeurs, bodyguards, and two gardeners she saw tending the gardens, but he also had six more servants. What exactly were they doing in this house and why did he need so many people? Elena was wondering in her mind.

She had already guessed that Elleard was a man from a wealthy family judging from his appearance who was always clad in expensive clothes, the luxury car he drove, and his bodyguards and drivers. However, she did not expect that the man's wealth was far, far from beyond what she had imagined.

What exactly was Elleard's job? Elena wondered to herself.

All the maids bowed their heads respectfully at Elleard's arrival. She started to step inside with Elleard beside her. Elena had to exhale seeing the contents of this mansion. While she was still transfixed, her small hand was touched by Elleard.

"Welcome to my world," the man said with a smile.

Elena returned Elleard's faint smile. Right, this was not a dream. Elena had entered into a foreign world today. Didn't Elleard say he wanted to marry Elena?

Did that mean, this place would soon become her home too? This was so luxurious!

So, Elena would live surrounded by this luxury as Elleard's wife?

"Miss, let me carry your things." One maid approached Elena, intending to ask for the old backpack that Elena was carrying.

"No need, it's very light." Elena smiled awkwardly. "I can carry this one."

"Baby, just give it to her. They'll keep it well." Elleard ordered Elena.

Although reluctant, Elena finally gave her ugly bag to the maid.

"Come with me!" said Elleard. His wheelchair started moving again and Elena followed him. Her eyes continued to scan the room they passed with admiration.

The mansion exterior was mostly white, however, on the inside, it was slightly different. The color of the walls inside was darker. The interior had a gray color scheme with dark metallic gold and metallic black decoration. It had very luxurious rooms with dark royal nuances.

As they crossed the front living room, rows of black leather sofas with round old teak wood tables, decorated with some gold carvings lined up neatly. On the wall, there were two very beautiful paintings that made Elena furrpw her brows.

She had seen both paintings on the news. If she remembered correctly, one of them was considered the last artwork of a famous French Impressionist painter, and it cost a fortune!

Elena didn't know if the painting was real or just a replica. Secretly she thought it was the original. Just the price of that one painting was enough to make her hold her breath.

Elena and Elleard were getting further and further into the house. Somehow it felt like the journey was endless because the hallway they passed was so huge.

Such a luxurious room had a mix of leather, wood, and gold tones, making it all look classy and expensive. One thing that really caught Elena's heart was the many bouquets of flowers that adorned the room.

There were various vases filled with fresh flowers and even in the corners of the room there are large pots with green plants that were soothing to the eye.

"You seem to like flowers very much," Elena said still walking beside Elleard. She remembered that Elleard had always bought all her flowers whenever he saw her at the cemetery or her flower shop.

"Actually, it was my mother who loved flowers," said Elleard in a flat tone. "There are always flowers in this house. After she died four years ago, it seems strange that there are no flowers here. That's why Samantha always makes sure the flowers that used to decorate the house will still be there."

"Oh..." Elena nodded in understanding.

She suspected that Elleard was very fond of and close to his mother. It was evident from how he was so diligent and visit his parents' graves almost every day. How he made sure the house always looked the way his mother liked it.

In this case, Elena felt that she had something in common with Elleard. They both loved their parents very much, and now they both have lost their loved ones.
