Chapter 49: Proposal

Ash groaned softly as the harsh morning sunlight spread across the small beach house that they had rented for a small getaway vacation. He shifted around and buried his face against the pillows, earning a small laugh from Thea who was already sitting up in bed and getting prepared like she was going to get out of bed.

“C’mon Ash, you can’t sleep the entire morning away. How else are we going to get a good spot on the beach?” Thea questioned from beside him, which made him burrow into the pillows even more. “Ash!” She huffed in protest.

“Thea, there are probably a million spots on the beach that are good spots… Why do we have to be up at…” He paused in his sentence only to glance at the alarm clock on the small nightstand with a quiet huff. “Thea, it’s not even six in the morning yet…” He grumbled quietly as Thea merely poked at his shoulder.
