Chapter 40: Break Ups and Rules

“What happened? Are you okay?” Thea questioned as she had sat up and placed her hands on either side of Ash’s face. “Please… Talk to me.” She demanded as he removed her hands from his features and let them drop back down to her side, it was like he didn’t want her touching him and her heart had dropped a moment.

“You said we needed to talk…” She urged quietly, shifting almost uncomfortably on her bed the longer Ash was there and stayed silent, though as she looked at him closer, she could see the tears that were beginning to form in his eyes.

“Thea… Do you remember anything after you had been forced to inhale whatever it was and then passed out?” Ash questioned, Thea thought for a moment before shaking her head no in response.

“Well, turns out you were right about Liam. You’ve known it from the start.” He chuckled quietly but then sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he kept his gaze pointedly away from her, like he couldn’t stand the sight of her anymore.
