Chapter 22: A Home Away from Home

The restaurant Ash had dragged them to half way through their trip had been nice, and Thea had gotten to see a side of him that she had never seen before. Ash had looked relaxed and carefree as he chatted with their waiter as though he had known him his whole life rather than just him being a regular at the restaurant. By the time they had left, she had felt as though she had gotten a glimpse of what Ash could truly be like away from the everyday stresses.

“Thank you.” Thea finally murmured as they were pulling up to the gates of… A mansion? She glanced over at Ash who was leaning out the window already and holding up a keyfob that beeped before opening the gates.

“You’re welcome, I hope you enjoyed it… It’s one of my favorite places to eat.” Ash responded easily as he had pulled into the driveway and then got out of the car once it was parked. He walked around to Thea’s side and opened the door, offering his hand to her.
