Chapter 18: An Empty Account

“You… Tried to help.” Ash started slowly as he pinched the bridge of his nose, silence fell between them again and the few rapid clicks on the keyboard she did hear had her tensing. A low growl had come from Ash as he had tilted his head back to look up at her for a few moments.

“You may be my mate… But do you know exactly what you’ve done?” He questioned as Thea flinched and shook her head in response. “You’ve nearly… Destroyed everything I’ve been working for. Everything. The account for this business has less than ten dollars right now… While I’m sure you’re thrilled at this fact… This is… Not how I wanted my business to fail. What about Martha?”

“Martha tried to help me run it too! You were losing out on a lot and we…” Thea was fumbling for words as Ash stared at her from across the desk. “I guess… We really messed up, I’m sorry.” She said quietly. “I wasn’t actually trying to ruin the business this time, I was trying to help. I brought a peace offering for you too!”
