Chapter 13: Reluctance

Thea jumped at the snarl and looked up at the beta standing in front of her, he was angrier than she had been expecting and for a moment she wasn’t sure if it had been a good idea to come here at all. She shrunk back for a moment until she saw how the beta was staring her down, she cleared her throat as she slowly straightened back up and eyed him warily.

“I need help.” She started off, causing the beta to laugh in response to the statement as he shook his head.

“Of course you do. We all do at this point. What do you even need help with? You have our alpha, what else is there? Or was that not enough for you and now you want his beta too?” He snarled, Thea flinched in response before she growled right back at him. Liam paused briefly as she stood her ground in front of him and then glared at her. “Fine, go on.” He sighed in annoyance as he leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed.
