Chapter 14

"Yes sir!" The soldier whispered back. Immediately he aimed his gun at him. 

"He's the target, we have to get some information from him!" 

Within the blink of an eye, he pulled the trigger, releasing the bullets into his hands and legs respectively. The suspect fell backwards, his team were at the verge of retaliating, upon seeing the officers all pointing their guns at them while coming in front of the king, they surrendered. 

"Tie them up and get them for further investigation," the king commanded. 

"Right away sir!" They replied, doing what they were ordered. 

Kate flashed in his mind, once again he tried reconnecting with her. 

"Goddess why?? What could be wrong?" He sighed. It hit him that something might have gone wrong. 

"I have to go get her!" 

Adrian flashed in his mind, this was the escort he often went everywhere with but just like Kate, he'd lost contact with him while coming here. 

With his phone in his hand, he quickly tapped his number into the screen and placed a call on him. 

"Hello?" 

"Yes sir," Francis, his CSO replied. "Find out where Adrian is and let me know." 

"Yes sir." 

His wolf was now calling him to Kate, he couldn't wait to see where Adrian was before he went to meet his mate. He set out with three bodyguards of his, the very best werewolf warriors he had, leaving the rest to deal with the criminals who had just been arrested. 

"Who's at the door?" Kate growled when the bangings on the door woke her up from her troubled sleep. Just as Casmien had asked her, she was dreaming of him when it seemed like someone was knocking on her door. 

She immediately jumped up from her bed, grabbing her pajamas which were kept in the wardrobe. It was meant for Casmien, since he wasn't around, it became the first option in her mind. 

It couldn't be Casmien, she would have felt his scent. Her heart began to pump and she began to wonder a whole lot of things. Fear wanted to grab her but she quickly pushed it away, heading towards the door to see who it was. 

"If you don't open this door, I'm going to knock it down!" A loud masculine voice loomed, terrifying her. It's Gary! 

"What's the problem with him?" Soon the fear she was feeling in her chest turned into anger. How could she be the King's mate and yet he came to threaten her. 

"Bastard!" She growled as she came out, her eyes pulled in when she saw the huge guards who were behind Gary and his new mate by his side who threw up a horrible look. 

"What are you doing here?" She smirked. 

Gary, whose eyes were almost turning yellow with anger, faced her with a hard slap. "You dare to talk to me, your Alpha and your husband just because you happen to be the King's mate?" 

His growl and slap got her retreating backwards, holding on to the cheek which she was slapped. 

"What the hell!" 

"You have to defend yourself, least these people would never respect you!" Her angry wolf ordered her. She didn't see the reason why they couldn't respect Kate, if not for anything but for her mate, Alpha Casmien. She believed that this would be the beginning of him being feared less if Kate didn't teach them a lesson. 

She, herself was reluctant seeing they were more than her but her wolf who was fierce and bold in the moment swiftly shifted. 

"If you aren't gonna teach them a lesson, I will." 

She sprang on the first person she saw, Gary ripping his throat, then on Lina ripping off a huge piece of flesh from her legs. She let out a loud growl into the night, a growl of victory as excitement towards what she has achieved. 

"Oh my goodness!" The bleeding Gary who never expected this, neither Lina gestured on the guards who were unhurt in the process. 

"Get here! Signal the entire guards in the estate to be alert," he shouted. 

"Get her, otherwise I'll kill you!" 

Kate, who was done with her mission, set into a quick race, not looking back. 

"I need to get out of here!" She growled as she ran. When she looked back, the three guards had already shifted into their wolves and were charging on her at an unbelievable speed. She dived into the east wing of the estate, running towards the small gate of the estate where she would jump over. 

When she looked in front of her, there were numerous men charging on her with clubs, stones and even guns. By the sides, they began to chase after her. She looked at the back and they were already there. 

"Goddess, save me!" She cried out, wishing her mate was here to save her. She was pressured between shifting back to her human form but she would be naked. Imagining herself being naked before her subordinates tormented her, her heart told her she would be queen soon but these images would never leave the minds of those who witnessed it. This might make them disrespect her. 

She delayed a little, hoping Casmien would come and rescue her. As she saw the clubs flying through space to meet her, she started feeling her bones cracking and pulling up, she was slowly turning into a human but she feared for her skin, she would certainly be injured. 

She raised her face to the sky in prayers, praying for mercy for her wolf spirit to be saved even though she's killed. 

When all hope was lost, she saw a huge, black wolf galloping from over the fence chasing towards her, three other wolves chased into the scene confusing the assailants.
