"Hello Adrian, what's the issue?" Casmien asked, taking his gaze back to Kate on the bed. He was so eager to return back and continue from where he stopped with her but something so serious was said which got his jaw dropping. 

Kate, who was on the bed staring at him, rose up, walking to his side. He draped his hand over her arms pulling her close to his side. Kate could now hear what was going on. 

"There's an attempted attack at the palace, seven servants have raised up arms to attack and ended up injuring some of the guards here." Kate heard his ex-brother in law who was the King's escort panting. She grabbed her chest. 

"Is it because most of my guards accompanied me to the Delta Pack?" Casmien suspected this as the reason for the attempted attack today. More serious was the brain behind this attack, he suspected that they must be sponsored by someone although he couldn't really conclude. 

"I'll be coming right away!" He told Adrian and ended the call, then he looked at his mate with such dull eyes that passed down his entire expression to Kate. He hated to leave her on a day like this when she really needed him most but he had to address this matter. 

He couldn't just give an order from here without knowing the prior cause of this. From what Adrian told him before Kate walked up to his side, they were so strong and powerful, they switched between the use of physical weapons and their wolves and were advancing towards his apartment. 

Something hit Casmien deep. They wanted to break in and steal some secret documents, his most valuable possession as the Alpha King. If he doesn't address this situation now, it could escalate into something bigger. 

He hurriedly rushed to put on his clothes, then he called on his chief security officer who was also standing guard outside of his apartment. 

"Francis, get ready. Ask the drivers to get set, we are returning back to the palace right away. A serious attack is going on in the palace by some suspected servants, reported by Adrian." 

"We are returning back tonight but I'll come for my mate tomorrow." He told him. 

"Yes sir," Francis replied, immediately setting to work, contacting his men and the drivers. 

Casmien was done dressing, he picked up his phone which was the only belonging he brought along with him to the apartment, pulling Kate into his chest, he draped his hands so tight over her, he felt her naked body and his cock stood up again even inside his pair of panties but he decided to ignore, for the first time. As his car and his escorts were leaving the residence of the pack estate, Gary and Lina stood at the window of their bedroom, gazing. They weren't asleep, since the late hours of the evening, they had been awake, ever vigilant as they were curious to know why the King didn't return to his palace but chose to spend the night at their residence with such a great number of bodyguards, all armed. 

They suspected anything could happen, especially as they weren't on good terms with each other. 

"What's he up to now?" Lina asked but her mate just grinned, not saying anything. 

"I guess it's a better chance for us to deal with her," Gary said to her after a while of silently contemplating. 

"Really?" She was confused and at the same time eager for revenge for what the king did to her husband at his party, the shame and the torture. Since they couldn't reach the king directly, they couldn't do him anything, their next focus was Kate. 

"How do you know that he didn't leave with her?" She questioned her mate. 

"I can still perceive her aura around." 

Lina shot Gary a stern gaze, her brows narrowed. Gary quickly noticed and gestured an apology. "I don't mean I still want her but since we aren't yet divorced, I can sense her. You know how sensitive my Alpha wolf is–"
