Introduction

It is April 21, 2440. It has been 400 years since the Black Death was used as a bioweapon. It sweeped over the world like nothing. Over 5 billion people died. The plague took the homeless, and the old first. After two years the world finally got the plague under control. Only about 2 billion people are left in the world.

After they got the plague under control the US government wanted to make people stronger, so they took everybody between the ages 16 to 18 and brought them to camps throughout the US and started to experiment on them using animal DNA trying to make them stronger, faster, have heightened immune systems, and heightened senses.

After about 3 years of testing they finally made the best specimen. He was faster than any vehicle, stronger than any machine, immune to any viruses, and all of his senses were heightened. The scientist had used a mutated wolf DNA and put it with his and it turned him into the ultimate weapon.

They never told anyone exactly what was in the DNA strand, only that it was manly wolf. The man was only sixteen so the scientists trained him like a soldier, and made more using his DNA. The US eventually had turned all kids in the camps into these monsters.

They decided to call them lycans, because they were able to extend their nails into claws whenever they wanted and their canines elongated. They were trained to fight in their human form, and then their more animalistic form. Over the years and through reproduction the lycans evolved to be able to actually shift into wolves. With each generation the scientist would give them more wolf DNA to see how strong they could really get.

They ended up making one of the lycans bigger and stronger than any of the others the scientist called her Amory. They decided to keep her locked away from everyone, so they could study her more.

After years of them being tested on and being used as lab rats they finally had enough, and they overpowered the guards and the scientist and killed them all and burned down the camps. They all ran and since the scientist never kept a digital chart of who was lycans the records all burned and the government didn't know who was a lycan, and only a select few knew of Amory.

Ever since then lycans stayed hidden amongst humans and would sometimes move into cities as packs but the packs never got too large in fear someone would notice. As long as they stayed in human form you could never tell the difference. Which is why they thrived and only every now in their one would get caught.

Every day the lycans feared being caught. If you didn't live in a pack you moved around a lot because you couldn't protect yourself on your own. Amory ended up settling down with a wolf and lived a good life. Throughout the years every now and then what the lycans now call an amory wolf would be born. The lycans believe that one day the child of two amory wolves will be the downfall of the humans and the end of the war.

Which now brings you to my story, my name is Alexa Wood, and I am a lycan. My dad is the alpha of the biggest and strongest pack. We live in Canton, Montana just a few hours from Yellowstone.
