Chapter 3: No Need To Rush

Alexa's P.O.V.

Nothing interesting happened the rest of the week. It was Friday, and I was in my last class when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out and looked at my screen and saw a text from my dad. 'Honey meet me at Eli's house after school.' 'Okay dad.' When the bell rang I went to my locker, and when I got there Sebastian was standing next to it.

I acted like he wasn't there and just put my books up and grabbed my helmet and shut my locker. When I went to leave he grabbed my arm and I turned around and stared him down. I saw him flinch just the slightest, but he quickly covered it up with a devilish smile.

Even with him being human I could tell he could still feel the power radiating off of my body. "Well what do you want or are you going to just stand there and hold my arm all night. I do have places to be." He gripped my arm a little tighter trying to hurt me but I didn't feel a thing.

"I just thought maybe we could hang out." I slightly laughed. "Only in your dreams lover boy." He didn't seem too happy with that. He reached up and smacked me. My head turned to the side not because he hit me hard just because he had caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting him to hit me. If we weren't in the middle of a hallway full of students I would have punched him, but I had to act like a human.

I snatched my arm from his hold. "I think you need to leave Sebastian." He looked like he wanted to say something, but he just turned and left. I watched him walk away a little confused at what just happened. Not wanting to over think it with everything else going on I left and went to Eli's house.

I got to Eli's house the same time as he did. "Hey Alexa, what are you doing here?" "My dad said he wanted to talk to us. I am pretty sure it is about passing down the title." Eli and I walked into the house. Both of our dads were in the living room. Eli and I sat down on the couch across from them.

My dad spoke first. "Okay so Julian and I have been talking and thinking all week, and we have decided that we are not going to pass the title down until after y'all graduate." "Dad, not trying to be rude but I think the pack would benefit from Eli and I leading now."

My dad shook his head and then Julian spoke. "No, I think the pack is doing fine, and we both think that y'all need to wait till after graduation so you don't have both pack business and school stuff, because it would be too much on your plate at the same time." I was going to say something but then Eli beat me to it.

"Alpha, dad I understand where you are both coming from but we all know that Alexa is an amory wolf, and she has more power than you both combined, and she isn't even alpha yet." My dad had a straight face at this point. "Eli I have to. I was there but you both will have to leave to go meet the other alpha's and you can't just skip school for a week to do so."

I looked between my dad and Julian. "I don't want to have to challenge your judgement, but I really think with the hunter in town the pack could use a stronger alpha." I knew I made him mad because he got up and crossed the living room before I could blink and grabbed me by my arms and pulled me off the couch.

I stayed strong and never faltered as I looked into his eyes. I could tell his wolf was on the edge of coming out, and felt his claws digging into my arms and the blood dripping down my arm. Eli got up and put a hand on my dad's shoulder. "Alpha put her down you are hurting her."

Eli wasn't trying to command him but there was a hint of it in his tone, and after a second my dad put me down and then left the house. I looked at Eli, and he was looking at my arms with a worried expression. I didn't really want to look at them but I finally did and wished I hadn't.

I had five puncture wounds in both my arms spaced out between my shoulder and elbow. Some of them were so deep you could see my humerus. Eli got up and stepped out of the room for a minute and when he came back he had a first aid kit. Julian had left to go after my dad to make sure he was okay and didn't do anything he would regret later.

Eli crouched down in front of me and put the first aid kit on the ground and opened it up and pulled out some gauze to clean up the blood. "Eli you don't have to do this I can do it." He looked at me with a smile. "Alexa I will be there for you. You are my alpha, friend and when you need me I am going to be right beside you now and always."

I let him clean my arm. He had got up and left the room and when he returned he had a bowl, and some rubbing alcohol in his hands. "Okay this is going to sting a little so just try not to move." I nodded my head and watched him pour the alcohol on both my arms. I held my slight scream that wanted to come out.

He looked at me. "You okay." "Yeah I am good." I said through gritted teeth. He got some thread and needle, and I watched him sew up the puncture wounds, and then wrapped them up with such care. "Okay just check on them twice a day and keep them covered." "Thank you, Eli. If you don't mind, could I stay here tonight." "Yeah of course you can just let me show you to the spare bedroom." Eli and I ended up staying up most of the night watching movies and just hanging out.

The next day I woke before the sun was up and texted my mom. 'Good morning mom, is dad still at the house.' 'No sweetie he never came home. I think he stayed over at Lee's house last night.' 'Well I'm stopping by the house to shower, change clothes and get some stuff and then I am going to meet a few friends at Yellowstone. We are staying there for the weekend.' 'Okay I will see you when you get here.'

I walked to Eli's room and knocked on the door. "Come in." I opened the door and Eli stepped out of his closet. "Hey I just wanted to let you know that I am going home to shower and change and also get a few things for this weekend." "Okay I will be at your house in two hours to get you."

"Okay see you then." When I got home I went straight to my room and got a shower careful not to get my stitches to wet. When I got out I dried off. Then I looked at my arms and saw that they were almost healed. I went to my closet and pulled on some jean shorts and a black tank top. I grabbed my duffle bag and put a few sun dresses in there and some shorts and tank tops.

I wrapped my arms back up and then went down stairs. My mom was in the living room reading a book. "Hey mom." My mom looked at me and she gasped. "Oh my gosh what happened to your arms?" I gave her a reassuring smile. "I made dad mad last night, and he lashed out a little." She got up off the couch and walked over and gently touched my arms.

Knowing she wanted to see them I unwrapped my arms. "Eli stitched them up for me." After I let her inspect them I rewrapped them. "Sweetie you know your dad did not mean to do that." "Yeah I know I'm the one that made an alpha lycan mad. I was asking to get hurt."

After I got done explaining everything from yesterday I heard a knock at the door. "That's Eli mom I gotta go… I will see you sometime Sunday." She gave me a hug before I left. "You stay safe." "Don't worry mom I will." I grabbed my bag and opened the door.

"Finally I thought you were never going to open the door." I pushed him out of the way. "Oh shut up and come on." He followed right behind. He opened the passenger door for me. "Ma lady." I gave him a smile. "Thank you kind sir." We both busted out laughing. I sat down and put my bag in the back seat and Eli walked around the truck and got in.

I looked at him. "Lily and Elijah are already there and Artemis and Jade left a few minutes ago." "Well looks like we better get a move on." The drive didn't take long when we listened to the radio and sang and talked the whole time. When we finally arrived our friends were waiting for us.

Lily walked over and gave me a hug. "We thought you were never going to show up." She looked down to my gauze wrapped arms. "Oh my gosh Alexa what happened to your arms?" Now all my friends had come over to hear the story.

After I told them the story they were all just staring at me. Then Jade broke the silence. "Well you seem to be okay and it was an accident so let's not mope on it and get on with our fun filled weekend." I smiled at Jade. I did always love her no matter the problem she could always lighten the mood.

Lily smiled and spoke. "Yeah lets go. Also, I want to see Alexa's wolf. I have never seen an amory wolf before. From how Eli talked you would think Alexa is a god now." I looked at Eli and he blushed slightly. "Well your wolf isn't like ours." I playfully hit him then went and grabbed my bag. The others waited for me to go shift, so I stepped behind a tree and took my clothes off and put them in my bag, and unwrapped my arm.

I lowered myself to the ground and triggered the change. It didn't take near as long and didn't hurt at all this time. When I finished the shift I stood my full height and shook out my fur. I looked at my front legs to see the puncture wounds fully healed.

I stepped out from behind the tree and saw all my friends. They were staring at me. Lily said something first. "Oh my gosh Eli wasn't kidding when he said you were massive." Artemis spoke. "And your wolf has a different smell than your human form."

Eli spoke. "Okay well we didn't just come out here so we could just stare at her let's go." With that everyone changed and we took off. Eli was next to me in no time and Lily wasn't far behind. We ran until just before the sun rose. I loved running like this with my friends not caring about a thing in the world.

When we all got back we all shifted and got dressed. I put on the navy blue sun dress and went and put my bag in the truck. Everyone gathered around. "Okay why don't we all stop at the dinner on the way back into town and get some breakfast."

They nodded their heads and then went to their vehicles, and we all headed out Eli and I led the way. The rest of the morning was just normal. We ate pancakes, waffles, laughed and talked for hours. For once, I felt like I didn't have to worry about anything.
