Chapter 18: Change of Scenery

Alexa's P.O.V.

"Hey Noah, this is Alexa." "Oh my gosh Alexa how are you? Why are you with Jasper? Is everything okay?" I could hear a slight concern but excitement in his voice. I chuckled lightly. "I'm doing fine. I have some problems going on right now, but as of right now everything is fine." "Well what do you need from me?" I looked at Cain. "I was wondering if me and three other people may come stay with you for a while?" He didn't answer right away. I could hear some things moving then light talking.

"Yeah that will be fine. When will you be here?" "In a few days." "Okay that will be fine." "Thank you so much Noah. I will explain everything when I get there." "Okay see you in a few days." I hung the phone up and handed it back to Jasper. Jasper looked at me. "So when will you be leaving?" "Tomorrow morning." He nodded as he put his phone back in his pocket then reached in his drawer and got out another phone and handed it to me.

"This is my spare phone, only the current alpha's have the number. You can have it, all their numbers are in this one too." I looked at the phone then looked at Jasper. "Thank you." "No problem." Cain and I left then went back to our room. Cain spoke. "So where are we going?" I sat on the bed and patted to the spot next to me.

Cain sat down. "We are going to Baker, Nevada. The alpha there is an old friend I used to go spend time with him in the summer. His name is Noah Wessex." "Are all four of us going?" "Yes." He nodded then laid back. Cain and I just laid around and we checked in with Sebastian a few times, but didn't really do much.

I woke up before sunrise. I got out of bed, packed our bags, got a shower, and got dressed. I was wearing red skinny jeans, a black tube top, a leather jacket, and my favorite combat boots. When I walked out of the closet Cain was sitting up in the bed. "Are you ready for today?" He looked at me. "Yeah."

He got up and went to get a shower. I walked to Finn's room and knocked on the door. "Come in." I opened the door and Finn had all his stuff packed and set on the bed. "What do you need Alexa?" "I need you to go get Sebastian in about five minutes and get your SUV packed. We are leaving my truck here."

"Okay is that everything?" I smiled. "Yes, and thank you for helping us." He stopped what he was doing and turned around to look at me. "Alexa it is my pleasure to help you and Cain. I have never liked how they treated the Lycans. I always wanted to do something but never had the courage, and when I met you and saw how you acted and the way Cain acted around you. I knew that I would always help you and Cain and never go back to what I was before."

I walked over to Finn and gave him a hug. He didn't even hesitate and hugged me back. After a few seconds I stepped back. "I am glad you're here." I turned around and left the room. I walked in my room as Cain was walking out of the shower, he only had a towel around his waist. "You like what you see? I think I see some drool from here." I playfully snarled at him. I hadn't even realized I was staring.

"One I am not drooling and second I wasn't even looking at you." "Okay if that's what you say." I walked over to the couch. As he turned around he dropped his towel and walked to the closet. I grabbed a pillow off the couch and threw it at his head. He stopped in his tracks. I thought he was going to turn around, but he didn't and just walked into the closet.

After a few minutes he walked out of the closet wearing some dark jeans, a black t-shirt and his black boots. He really did like dressing alike. There was a knock at our door. "Come in." Finn walked in. "Is everything okay Finn?" "Everything is fine. I am just here to get your bags and take them downstairs." I nodded then made sure everything was in the suitcase then zipped it up and handed it to him. He grabbed it then left.

I turned around and Cain was looking right at me. "Yes." "Nothing just thinking." "What are you thinking about?" He smiled. "You." I could feel my cheeks flush. "What about me?" "About how beautiful you look." I didn't know what to say. I was never really one to be speechless, but Cain always had a way of making me speechless. With just simple little comments.

"Thank you." He stepped closer. "It's my pleasure." He walked to the door. "You ready to go?" I turned to face him. "Yeah I am ready." When we got downstairs Jasper was waiting at the door. I gave him a hug then stepped back. "If you ever need anything Alexa just call." "Don't worry I will and once we leave you can just dump my truck in some parking lot." He nodded.

Finn walked up with Sebastian. Jasper looked at Sebastian. "I hope you had a comfortable stay Sebastian?" Sebastian looked at me and I nodded. "I did. Mason was very kind to me." Jasper smiled then turned back to me. "Now you better call me when you get there, and make sure you keep me updated on how you and everything is going?" "Of course Jasper. Thank you so much for your help."

We got in the SUV, Finn drove while Sebastian sat in the back seat with Cain while I sat up front. We stopped a few times to get gas, food, and use the bathroom, but for the most part we just kept driving and talked to the least amount of people possible. Nobody really said anything. I guess we didn't really know what to say. I did teach Sebastian a little more about lycans and answered some of his questions.

He had been asking questions for the past fifteen minutes. "So are you guys like born as a wolf or human?" Cain laughed. I looked back at him. "No we are born human and can't shift till we turn 18." Sebastian nodded his head. "Do you have mates?" "No, we don't have a mate. We are just like humans there. We find someone, fall in love with them and so on."

Cain looked at Sebastian. "You really do have a lot of questions." "I just want to know as much of the real facts as I can." Sebastian looked at me. "So how much longer till we get there?" Finn answered. "We are about 4 hours away?" After a few minutes of silence Sebastian spoke. "Alexa."

"Yeah" I looked back at him. "I just wanted to say I am sorry for how I treated you in school." I just stared at him for a second. I couldn't believe he was apologizing to me. "It's fine." "No it's not fine I was rude to you, and just because I was afraid to tell you the truth."

I looked at him confused. "What do you mean the truth?" "That I liked you." I heard Cain growl and before I knew what was happening Cain punched Sebastian in the face. "Oh my god Cain! What did you do that for?" He just looked at me not saying a word. I looked at Sebastian. "Are you okay?" He looked at me and his jaw already had a nasty bruise. He moved his jaw very slowly. "Yeah I am okay."

I made Finn pull over and let me and Cain swapt seats, which he was not very happy about it but I didn't care. Nobody said anything after that. When we were about an hour out I called Noah to let him know we were almost there. We pulled up to his house the sun was just starting to set.

I got out of the SUV and stretched then walked to the door with Cain behind me. While Finn and Sebastian got our bags. Before I could knock the door opened. I was engulfed in a hug. "Oh my gosh it is so good to see you Alexa." After a minute Noah put me down. "It's good to see you too." "Look how big you have gotten. Last time I saw you, you were this high." He put his head almost to the ground. He looked behind me to Cain.

"And who is this here? Your boyfriend?" He moved his eyebrows at me. I laughed. "No this is my friend Cain." I pointed back to the SUV. "And that is Finn and Sebastian." Noah sniffed the air, then whispered. "Their human?" He said like a question, like he wasn't for sure. "Yes."

"Let's go inside and I will explain everything." He nodded. He told Finn and Sebastian where to put our bags. Noah, Cain and I walked to the living room and sat down, and I told him everything. I have known Noah for pretty much my whole life. I trusted him with my life. He was a very fine lycan and Alpha.

After I got done Finn and Sebastian had come in while I was explaining everything. Noah kept looking between all of us like he saw a ghost. He looked at Cain. "First I am sorry for what you had to go through, and second congratulations." He looked at Finn. "Thank you for helping them." Then last he looked at Sebastian. "I am glad you finally learned the truth and are so accepting of us."

He looked at me. "So your father was right. You are an amory wolf." I nodded my head. "Yup. Still can't believe it myself." A lady with silver hair and blue eyes walked into the living room. "Supper is down if you all are hungry." Noah looked up. "We will be right in there sweetie." I looked at Noah "And who is that?" "That is my wife Fiona."

After we all ate dinner I was helping Fiona clean up. "Thank you so much for letting us stay here." She smiled at me. "It's no problem. When Noah told me that you were coming. He was so happy." We finished cleaning. I went to go back to my room. "Alexa," I stopped and turned around. "Yeah." "You and Cain should come to the gym tomorrow." I look at her confused. "About five years ago Noah and I opened a gym in town for the lycans to train at." I smiled. "I would love to. What time?" She thought for a second. "You can come around lunch there usually aren't a lot of people there then."

I then walked up stairs to mine and Cain's room. I walked in and closed the door. Cain was laying on the bed watching t.v. I walked over and plopped down on the bed. "It feels so good to lay down." He chuckled. I looked over at him. "Why did you punch him?" He looked down at me with a frown. "I just. It's just when he said he liked you I just. I don't know. Didn't like the fact someone else liked you."

Cain just looked at me. He got up and went to the bathroom. After a few seconds I heard the shower turn on. I changed into some more comfortable clothes then went to bed. As I was drifting off to sleep I felt the bed dip and an arm pull me to a chest. I knew it was Cain so I just moved a little closer than fell asleep.
