Chapter 14: Tables Have Turned

Alexa's P.O.V.

I woke up before my alarm. I went to my closet and put on some dark skinny jeans, a red fluttery off the shoulder shirt, and my high top converse. I walked out of the closet and Cain was sitting up.

"Come on Cain, you need to get dressed. We are supposed to meet my friends before school." He got up and went into the closet and in a few minutes came back out with some dark jeans, a red crew neck shirt, and some black boots on. I chuckled.

He looked at me with a curious face. "What's so funny Alexa?" "You and I match." He looked at me then down at his outfit. Acting like he didn't mean it. "Oh I didn't even notice I did that." I walked to the door. "Let's go tiger." As I am walking down the stairs I hear Cain say. "Actually I am a wolf." I was still laughing when I got to the bottom of the stairs.

My mom looked at me. "What is so funny sweetie?" I looked at the stairs as Cain was coming down. "Him." I said. She looked at Cain then back at me and chucked. We sat down at the table, and ate breakfast when we finished. Cain took our plates to the sink and we thanked my mom.

I grabbed a set of keys off the table next to the door then went outside. "You aren't going to ride your motorcycle." "No, I was going to take the truck today." "Okay." I got in the driver seat and Cain got in the passenger seat, and we were off to school.

When we got to school all my friends were already there. All my friends except for Eli. Has not seen me since I got kidnapped. When I walked up they started talking at once. I growled low enough, so only we could hear to get them to shut up.

"Okay that's better. Now one at a time." Lily spoke first. "Where have you been? We have all been worried sick about you."

"I had to leave with Cain and Finn to keep y'all safe. I can't say where in case I have to go back." Jade asked a question next. "What happened Alexa?" "I got kidnapped by Mr. Reed and Cain and his friend Finn, helped my dad and Eli save me."

After a few minutes no one spoke. "Well in my defense I hope everything has gone okay." Artemis answered. "Yes Alexa. After Katie and the other hunters left everything went back to normal. Besides you not being here." I nodded thanks to Artemis. "Well it is not over yet they will come looking for Cain and I. Now it's just a matter of when."

After a few more questions and answers we all left. Cain and I walked to my locker so I could get my books. I had my books for my first and second class. I closed my locker and saw Sebastian walking towards us.

I whispered to Cain. "Stay calm." He didn't respond, but I know he heard me. Sebastian spoke. "Well well well, a lot of people are looking for the two of you." Without hesitation I spoke. "I don't know what you are talking about."

He laughed and grabbed my arm. I felt Cain step forward. I used my other hand to put on his side to tell him not to do anything. "Sebastian let me go. I don't know what you are talking about." He looked me directly in the eye. "So you and your friend aren't lycans." My breath caught in my throat. How could he know. He answered my unspoken question before I asked it.

"My dad is a hunter, and I am in training. My dad told me all about you hoping I would help him find you." He looked at Cain. "He even told me about you, and what you did to Mr. Reed." Cain growled lowly. "Don't bother running. I have already called my dad. They thought you would come back."

I grabbed Sebastian's arm that he was holding me with. I directed all of my power towards Sebastian. I saw him wanting to coward, but he didn't. I let my claws extend into his arm. I saw the pain cross his face. His grip loosened, by now the halls were empty it was just the three of us. "Cain hold on to him I need to tell my beta." I didn't want to risk his safety by saying his name.

I stepped a few steps away and called Eli. I talked so only he could here. "Eli get all the lycans out of school now Sebastian and his dad are hunters. I don't know how many are here." "Do you need my help?" "No the hunters don't know about you or the others so leave now and get my parents out of town. They will go for them next."

"Okay I will. Stay safe." "Don't worry I am with Cain, we will be okay." I hung up the phone and put it in my pocket then I looked back at Sebastian. He spoke. "The other hunters will come, and kill all of you." I slapped him in the face, a bruise started to form. I looked at Cain. "We are taking him with us."

I put my books back in my locker then we headed out to my truck. Cain put Sebastian in the backseat and then got in the front seat. Cain whispered. "Where are we going?" I started the truck then whispered "My parents own a house outside of town on the opposite side of town where the house I was held in." "Why are we going there?"

"We are going to find out why they really want me so bad." Sebastian never said a word the whole way there. When we got there, Cain took Sebastian out, and followed me inside.

I took Sebastian down stairs to the basement. When I got into the basement I thought back to when I had first woke up after being kidnapped. Cain got him a chair to sit in. I grabbed the chains and chained him to the floor. Cain spoke. "So what now?" "Now we get answers." I looked at Sebastian. "Now this can go one of two ways. Either tell us what we want or we make you."

He just sat there looking at us. I looked at Cain. "He made his decision. You stay here, I will be right back." I went back upstairs and to the closet down the hall and grabbed the duffel bag and carried it back to the basement. I set it on the floor and opened it up.

I pulled out a blade, and stepped closer to Sebastian. Cain grabbed my hand, I looked up at him. "Cain let me go." I said in a harsh tone. "Alexa don't do this. Once you do you can't go back. Torturing someone changes a person." I looked at Sebastian. "I have to do this. Now let me go." Cain let me go and I stood in front of Sebastian. "Okay here is how this is going to go."

"I ask you a question. Either you answer or I hurt you." He just sat there looking at me. Watching him just sitting there reminded me of when Mr. Reed tortured me, and how I didn't give him any answers. I quickly pushed the images and feelings down, and proceeded to get my answers.

"How many hunters are in town?" He didn't answer so I took the knife and sliced his forearm. He never moved or said anything. "How many lycans do the hunters have?" He still didn't answer so I sliced his thigh. I saw him flinch a little.

We went back and forth like that for almost two hours. By now Sebastian was barely sitting in the seat and as I looked just below him there was a puddle of blood under his chair. Cain spoke. "Alexa you need to stop. He has lost too much blood. He is clearly not going to say anything."

I got closer to his face. "Just tell me something." He finally spoke. "You. are. going. to. die." He spit in my face. I lost it and in one swift motion stabbed the knife into his upper thigh. He screamed in pain as the blade went all the way through his leg and into the chair.

He yelled at me. "YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS." He blacked out from the pain. I left the basement before I seriously hurt him. Cain followed right behind me. When I got to the top of the stairs I wanted to just break, but I knew I couldn't. I had to stay strong. Cain walked and stood in front of me.

"Are you okay?" I looked up at him. What do I say, that I am barely holding myself together, or that I am fine. "Yeah I am okay. I am just frustrated with Sebastian and all this. I never thought this would ever happen. I was supposed to become alpha and try and live the most normal life I could." He pulled me into a hug. "We are going to be okay and the pack will be fine."

Cain stepped back. "I will go watch over Sebastian, and you go call your parents and see how everyone else is doing." I nodded. I watched him walk back downstairs. I went to the living room and sat down and got my phone out and called my dad.

"Hey dad are you with mom?" "Yeah hold on let me get her." After a second I heard my mom and dad on the phone. "How is everything going?" My dad spoke first. "The pack is safe and your mom and I are on our way to one of our safe houses." My mom spoke. "Where are you at?" "I am at our house outside of town. I had to take Sebastian with us."

I could hear the worry in my moms voice. My dad spoke. "Have you gotten any information out of him yet?" "No. He hasn't said anything." I decided to leave out the threat on mine and Cain's life not wanting my mom to worry more.

I heard Cain yell from downstairs. "You need to come quick." My mom asked. "What was that, is everything okay?" "Everything is fine. I am sorry to cut this short, but I have to go. They both said. "Okay, stay safe."

I hung up my phone and got up and went back to the basement. When I got there I saw Sebastian was laying on the ground a few feet from the chair unconscious. I looked to Cain. "What the hell happened?"
