Chapter 12: Healing Process

Alexa's P.O.V.

I woke up and looked around then turned over and saw Cain's face. When he is asleep he looks so peaceful, unlike during the day it's like you can see all the pain and hurt on his face and through his eyes. He opened his eyes. "Good morning Alexa." "Morning." I got out of bed. "Cain we need to find somewhere to shift today."

Cain looked down at my leg. "You can't shift in that." "I will have Jasper get the pack doctor and have them take it off." "No Alexa, you will hurt yourself even more during the shift." "Cain just trusts me I know what I am doing." He nodded. "Okay, let's find Jasper."

We walked down stairs and found an older lady in the kitchen. She turned around, when I saw her eyes I am pretty sure my mouth literally dropped. They were a beautiful light green. I had never seen eyes that color before. "Dear close your mouth before you catch a bug." I closed my mouth. "I am sorry it's just your eyes are so… Beautiful."

She smiled. "Thank you. You must be Alexa." She looked at Cain. "Which must make you Cain the lycan that hunts lycans." I looked at Cain and I saw hurt flash through his eyes not really liking the comment. "Ma'am we are trying to find Alpha Jasper. Can you help us?" She looked at me. "Yeah let me text him real quick. She got her phone and texted who I guess was Jasper. She put her phone back in her pocket and then looked at me. "He will be down in just a minute."

We sat down at the island. "My bad I completely forgot, my name is Bridget Hale." "As in Jasper Hale." Before I could finish asking my question Jasper walked in. "Good morning Alexa, Cain." He walked over to Bridget, kissed her on the cheek. "Morning mother."

Well that answers my question. Jasper turned back to me. "You need to ask me something." "Yes. I was wondering if your pack doctor could take my cast off?" He thought about it for a second. "Yeah I don't see why he can't."

We walked out to Jasper's truck and got in. The drive wasn't very long. When we got there a man in his mid thirties walked out. He walked up to Jasper and greeted him. "Hello alpha Jasper." "Hello Logan. This is our guests Alexa and Cain. They are staying with us for awhile."

Logan looked at us both then spoke to me. "It's nice to meet you." He looked at Cain. "Nice to meet you too." He looked back at Jasper. "Logan Alexa needs her cast taken off." "Well follow me so we can get that cast off." We all walked inside and Logan led us down stairs to the basement.

He turned on the light and the room looked like a doctor's office. "Alexa sit on the table." I went and sat on the table, and Cain stood next to me watching Logan's every move. Logan got what he needed to take the cast off then came back over to me and started to cut off the cast.

When he completely cut the cast off he pulled it off. I looked down at my leg. It was slightly bruised, but you could still tell where the bone had broken. The bruising was worse there. Cain looked at my leg then back at me then at the doctor.

Logan spoke. "Alexa this is not completely healed yet." All I said was, "I know." Logan reached out and touched my leg and I pulled back and whimpered in pain. It was a little more sensitive than I thought it was going to be. Cain stepped closer to Logan, and I grabbed his arm. "I am okay Cain, it just hurt a little." Cain looked at me then back to Logan.

Logan put all his stuff away then left so we could talk in private. "Jasper I need you to take us somewhere I can shift without anyone else seeing." "Okay I know just the place let's go." Cain looked at me, then picked me up and followed Jasper up the stairs and to his truck.

The drive back didn't take as long. When we got to Jasper's house he took us to the back yard. "Jasper, how much land do you own?" Jasper stopped and looked at me. "I own 35 acres. All of it is fenced in with a six foot privacy fence." "Wow!" Cain shook his head. It must be nice to be able to shift and know you will be safe and no one will see you.

Jasper started walking again. We walked for about 5 minutes till Jasper stopped. "Okay this should be far enough, and none of my pack members are here right now." Cain put me down next to a tree, so I didn't fall over. Without the cast it did hurt to put pressure on the leg.

Cain and Jasper went behind a tree so they could change. I carefully took off my clothes and folded them. I knelt toward the ground letting my wolf come forward. I shook out my fur and looked down at my leg and took a step.

Well at least I now know all I have to do is shift to heal. Jasper and Cain stepped out. Jasper's wolf was a dark grey, and Cain's was the same color as mine. The way to tell us apart besides the slight size difference was our eyes. His were slightly darker than mine.

I looked at Cain then Jasper then took off. It felt so good to run free like this with no worries. Cain and I were way faster than Jasper. We slowed down so we could all run together. After about an hour of running we went to get our clothes and change. I changed and got dressed then stepped out.

Jasper and Cain had already changed, and I walked closer to them. Cain looked at me. "Cain, I didn't know you were an amory wolf." I looked at Jasper and he was just staring at us. Cain looked so confused. "A what?" "An amory wolf. We are bigger, stronger, faster than any other lycan." Cain just looked like he was thinking. "I have never heard of an amory wolf before."

Jasper spoke. "That's because you were raised by humans. Only the lycans know of the amory wolf. We keep it a secret from the humans." Cain looked at Jasper. "Why would y'all keep them a secret?" Jasper stepped closer. "Because Cain the lycans believe that the child of two amory wolves will end the war and be the downfall to the humans."

Cain looked at me. "Alexa that's why when I first met you I could feel so much power from you, but didn't submit to it because mine is just as strong." "Cain maybe that is why I trusted you so much when we first met." He nodded his head. "I was trying to figure out why I felt so drawn to you and trusted you to."

I can't believe that Cain is an amory wolf too. At Least now I know that means he will always be with me. I will always have someone there that knows just what I am going through. When I take over the pack I will have him right there by my side, and the other alphas won't know what to do when they see two amory wolves ruling a pack together.
