Chapter 11: Stakeout

Alexa's P.O.V.

I woke up right as we passed the sign that read Welcome to Seattle. I have only met Alpha Hale once and I was just a kid, so I didn't remember much about him. I sat up and watched as Finn drove. "Finn how much longer?" "We are only a hour from where Alpha Hale lives."

When we arrived at Alpha Hale's house it was gorgeous. Bigger than mine back in Canton. Cain woke up and turned to me. "It's going to be fine, we will be safe here." I smiled reassuring him. We all got out of the car and Alpha Hale walked up to us.

"Thank you Alpha Hale for letting us come here." He smiled. "Please call me Jasper, and when your father called I wasn't sure at first." Cain stepped to my side. "Either way we are greatly appreciated for this. We owe you now." "Well come on we have your rooms set up."

Jasper showed us to our rooms. Cain and I shared a room while Finn got a room next to ours. I turned to Cain. "Let me guess this is your doing?" I waved my hands around. "I told you I am not leaving your side till I know you are safe."

I walked up to him, and pulled him into a hug. "Thank you." He wrapped his arms around my waist, and pulled me closer. "Your Welcome." There was a knock at the door. "Come in." I stepped away from Cain.

When the door opened a girl not older than us walked in. She had blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was staring at Cain. I growled. "What do you want?" "Yeah sorry, Alpha Hale told me to tell you that you have full access to the house, and don't be afraid to ask for anything."

She turned back to Cain. "And I am just three rooms down if you need anything." I growled. "You can leave now." She turned around and left. Cain pulled me to him. "What was that?"

"What was what?" He smiled. "You were very rude to her." "She kept staring at you and clearly invited you to her room." "What are you jealous?" "No!" He rolled his eyes. "Okay, sure." He stepped to the door.

"Where are you going." "Going to take her up on her offer." I growled. "Calm down, I am just going to talk to Finn." He left and when I heard Finn's door open. I decided to get a shower.

I walked to the bathroom then looked down at my leg, and remembered I still had a cast on. I walked out the room and down the hall and down stairs to the kitchen to try, and find some garbage bags. I started opening all of the cabinets, on my sixth cabinet I finally found the bags.

I got one and went back up stairs, and got my shower. When I got out Cain was back in the room sitting on the bed. He had a phone out and was texting someone. When he was done he looked over at me.

Before I could even ask he spoke. "That was your dad." "What did he want?" "He was just letting me know what was going on." I didn't say anything waiting for him to continue. "One of the patrols spotted Katie and some hunters at my house in town."

"Do they know if they know about what happened to Mr. Reed." Cain tensed at his name. "Your dad said that they know." "Are you sure they won't find us here?" Cain held my hand in his. "Your father wouldn't have sent us here if he didn't think we weren't going to be safe."

I looked around the room then remembered Finn. "Wait what about Finn isn't Jasper's pack a little on edge with a hunter here." "I think your dad explained his involvement with everything." I laid back on the bed. "Cain, do you ever wonder what life would have been like if we were human."

I waited for Cain to answer. "I mean not really. Even though I haven't had the best life I wouldn't change what I am for anything."

Eli's P.O.V.

After Cain, Alexa, and Finn left Alpha Max sent me and Elijah and Artemis to patrol the city. We had decided to split up to cover more ground faster, I was walking down the street Cain lived on. When I saw a truck pull into Cain's driveway. I started to walk slower passing his house.

I focused my hearing on the people getting out of the truck. A female spoke. "I wonder why Bryce didn't answer the phone." A male spoke next. "I bet it has something to do with Cain. Maybe he finally snapped." The lady's voice sounded like she was mad. "We are not going to think like that."

I didn't hear them any more so I glanced back. I watched as the guy walked inside. I got my phone out and texted Artemis. 'Hey where are you at?' 'I am at the house where they kept Alexa at. There are hunters all over the place, and one of them just called someone.'

'Artemis get out of there now, go to my house and tell Elijah.' 'Okay.' As I was putting my phone in my pocket I heard a female yell. I looked back at Cain's house and the lady rushed out the house yelling at the guy. "I AM GOING TO KILL CAIN IF IT IS THE LAST THING I DO." Her and the guy got in the truck and they left.

When I got to my house Alpha Max, Isabella, my parents, Artemis, and Elijah were in the living room. I told them what I had seen and heard. Max spoke. "I am going to text Cain and let him know and then we can figure out what we are going to do." Max stepped into the other room.

Isabella spoke. "Eli don't worry Alexa is safe Max and I sent her some place where they will be safe." "I still don't see why you won't tell us." My dad piped in. "Son it is for the best that only they know. The less people that know the better for them."

Max walked back in. "Okay now we can get down to business." I took a seat and let alpha Max have everyone's attention. "Okay so we know that they know Mr. Reed is dead." "We are going to keep the children in school, and the adults will keep going to work."

"Alpha, we should also increase patrol. I think we should let some of the younger wolves help with patrol." Isabella spoke. "How much younger are you thinking." "I say anyone 16 and older should have to do patrol." "That is insane, a fourth of patrol won't even be able to shift then." My mom said.

"Mom we can't shift in town anyways we can have them patrol in town and the older ones patrol outside of town." Everyone looked at each other not saying anything. Artemis spoke up. "I think that it is a good idea that way we will have more eyes and ears in town and in the school."

"Okay that is what we will do, but each patrol with the teens on it will have an elder." We all nodded agreeing. "I will go ahead and make the new patrol list and get it out to the pack." My dad said. We all stood and bowed to Max then left. I went to my room and laid on my bed and got my phone and texted Alexa.

'Hey, how is everything going over there?' 'Pretty good, the alpha has been very kind to us. I just wish my leg and these wounds would heal faster. I can still feel traces of the aconite and silver in my body.' I thought for a second then remember something. 'Alexa, you can heal faster, even with the aconite and silver still in your system.'

'Eli what are you talking about.' 'Remember when your dad hurt your arm and as soon as you shifted it healed.' 'Oh my gosh I totally forgot about that. Eli you are a genius.' 'Alexa just make sure no one in the pack sees you shift. I don't think you should tell a whole other pack about there being another amory wolf. Some people might want you for your power.'

'Don't worry I will be safe Eli. You just worry about keeping our pack safe. I will be home soon.' I turned my phone off and laid back on my bed thinking. I would have never thought this would be happening.
