68 Stupid Servant

Almeru squinted.

Then he took a step back and snorted at Simon.

"Stupid servant," his sister Aira de Cene hissed. "If she's not coming out then we're going in."

Without saying another word, she stepped towards the house. But before she could reach the stairs, she paused. She held a finger forward, as if she was trying to poke something.

"Magick…" her face turning red. "This woman…"

"Aira… " Almeru knew what was coming. He turned towards his people standing close by. "Stop her."

Two men immediately hauled Aira towards her brother.

"Why are you stopping me?" Aira growled. Her fangs were now noticeable, her nails had grown sharper. 

"We are not doing this here." Almeru said sternly.

"That woman… used magick on us! On me!"

Almeru's gaze turned towards the house. Then he took a step back, his footsteps making a crunching sound against the snow.
