Romeo jolted up.

"Sir?" a maid stood beside him. She looked concerned as she gave him a glass of water.

Instead of accepting the water, Romeo ignored it. Instead, he looked at his visibly shaking hands. What was that?

What the hell was that about?

Since his wife died, he had been dreaming of her every night.

And he liked to believe that it was his wife's way of guiding him and urging him to find a vessel for her, a new body that would become hers.

He pushed the maid away.

"Leave…"

"Sir the madam said…"

"Leave me alone!" Romeo said coldly.

In response, the maid bowed. Then she left the room without saying anything.

Romeo glared at the now-closed door. His mother insisted on always keeping it open. He knew she was scared that he would harm himself again. And while he didn't like it, he had no choice.

His mother was protecting him. His mother loved him.
