The Lower Realm's

This is my main story and, my second story ( The Bai Clan's Rise ) is a side story to this one, but I will be writing both novels. This follow's the story of a discarded child, going against his destiny and family and on an adventure to find his own path in life, instead of the one that was forced upon him as a child. Will our MC die before he changes his fate or will he carve a path out for himself before that, or will he stand alongside the Heros and Villians of the upcoming Era? I don't own the novel's cover art, but I will take it down if needed.

Duties of the old, Ambitious of the Young

Auh!!!

A young boy was screaming in an almost blood-curdling cry.

It sounded as if, his soul was being ripped from his body in an life-altering manner.

There were thousands if not hundreds of thousands of symbols, images, and hieroglyphics spread thought all over the large dark chamber and the young boy.

As the images, an symbols started to glow, this place began to change, it went from a bright Azure blue to a bright Chartreuse green, at first they would just glow brightly then they started to pulsate.

After the pulsating started, it started to get slower and slower until it finally stopped, then a crackle was heard as if there was a fire that was begging to crumble.

As if to signal the end of it and the start of something new, all things possess the quality to come to an end, but not all things possess the ability to be created new once again.

If creation is but a stop on the cycle of life, then if it had all been for nothing at all, then the destruction, death, and desolation of something could be called then the next stop on the cycle of this boy's life.

Cough, cough!

Augh ... damn, what the heck?

Why am I bleeding from my mouth and my ears?

The young boy shuddered as he looked down, as he felt his left arm go numb then start to feel itchy, then heat up. As if he didn't believe it at first, once he took a second glance.

He saw what was true and an illusion, but the beginning of what was the pitiful remains of what was leftover of his body, his arms and legs were regrowing anew.

From what could only be described as the mutilation of his stumped-off limbs.

He found himself laying down in a massive pool of blood, all he could see were corroded pieces of his now fallen limbs near him.

The legs and arms that were no longer part of his body were scarred and missing pieces as if they were dipped in acid or melted by fire.

The young boy threw up right there and then, a few minutes later after calming down.

He started to look down even though knew it was his body, he couldn't believe the audacity and monstrosity behind it, who would do this to another person and why?

Even after contemplating over it, over and maybe even a hundreds times in his own head, he still couldn't understand how this happened!

... ... ...

After looking around, the young boy got up from the floor.

He looked down again and saw all the blood over himself, after looking at himself in a mirror on the wall, all he could see was, what could only be the left over act that was made towards him.

Looking back at himself in the mirror, all he saw was his own never-ending confusion and the eyes of someone that was lost but ultimately afraid.

Still covered in blood, an in a daze what was the look of helplessness and the eyes of someone that might have lost their innocence and never be the same ever again.

As the young boy turned around, both of his fists were tightened with all his strength.

As far as his eyes could see, in this almost endless room or more along the lines of a gigantic chamber he saw were the countless bodies of other children, humens were the dead creature like things throughout the place.

As if the gigantic chamber with this large dark open space wasn't creepy enough, there was this feeling of emptiness and desolation it gave off...

...

... ...

... ... ...

The fear began to settle in, with what was already almost empty, and leftover in his already fragmented and frail mind but now the feeling of hopelessness and the feeling of being alone started to make the young boy fell differently, he began to thinkto himself.

How did he get here, when did he get here, and finally ... why was he here?

As far as his eye's could see, besides the endless sight of the countless dead, there were knives, swords, spears a couple of broken staffs, and other weapons all over the place Scattered throughout the large and almost endless dark chamber.

"Why were there weapons everywhere, did we kill each other or did someone or something do this to all of us?"

On the ground, there were countless other dead people on the ground ranging from children that looked younger than five and all the way up to young teenagers and there were a couple of scary scenes in front of him, he might never forget.

A couple of other children had lost their limbs and even several were without their own heads two of them didn't even have their upper bodies attached anymore, in the middle of the giant and dark champer of what he could only describe as a sacrificial blood pit was even worse, there were dead bodies of several large beasts and a couple of smaller ones scattered through the place.

There was this weird echo throughout the place and a little while he figured out it came from the center of the entire chamber...

He got curious and curiosity got the better of the young boy, he started his way towards the center, his focus on several of the largest creatures.

When he got close, there was low and heavy breathing ... ... ...

...

... ...

... ... ...

"What is it?"

The deep breathing continued!

The breathing got louder and louder the closer he got to the large thin and slumped-over beast, on its side.

When he was, finally within 10 meters of the thing he felt his feet drop a little, there he was standing atop a large Jade circle in the center of this endless chamber.

It was old-looking but not decrypted, it was large but not like the chamber it was about 30 meters in diameter there were symbols and hieroglyphics on it, but they were filled with blood, leading to a two meter handprint in the direct center of it.

He walks closer, tip-toeing while trying to not startle the large beast in front of him.

He finally gets around to circling the large beast's back, when he finally rounds about the beast's side he could still hear it breathing.

What was it, how did it get here, was it lost like me?

Was it scared, and what was it thinking, was it wondering why this happened to it, it sounded injured but its breathing was loud but deep.

Could he be fast enough, to get a quick look at it, if he moved fast enough and upon immediately making his way around the beast's backside?

Two large ears, a mouth with sharp teeth, come into view ...

What was still scary to him, made him Gaze upon this thing with confusion and wonder, he took a deep breath as he tries to gather and muster some courage, he takes a step forward to get a closer look, two large hazel eyes reveal themselves to him.

Aah!!!

Roar!!!

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Within a chamber filled with books and sleeves everywhere nearby -

Hmmm...

"Master Luo, it sounds like a beast has survived within the Spirit Blood Formation in the blood pit chamber!"

"That's fine, send two guards down to finish it off. Everything must be dead, for my research to be completed, chancellor Gu Ruo!"

"As you wish Master Luo!"

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

- Back within the Blood Pit Chamber

The young boy falls backward, as he is quickly frightened by the large beast as it is still alive.

After realizing the beast was still alive, but was injured and could barely move.

The boy found a broken staff next to him on the floor and stabbed the splintered end towards the chest of the beast.

"Die already you monster!"
