The Ghost Plague

"You can call me Cal."

Aria had thought that Cal would take them to the town hall or something. But unlike what she expected, he actually led them through a high fence that led them to a large mansion. "Isn't this a nobleman's house or something?" Feny asked first.

"We used to have everyone in the town hall to take care of the adults." Cal told them. "But since the only daughter in this house, Helen, can't take care of her parents and servants alone, she said that we could use her house. And in return, we also help her."

"And her parents allowed it?"

"No, but they died last week. Along with my parents as well." He answered and Feny finally returned to silence.

But still with a flat tone, Cal looked back at Aria as soon as they were at the door. "It's only everyone's guess, but you better not touch sick people carelessly. Because all adults who do that get infected immediately." He warned her first.

Cal finally opened the big door of the mansion. And in an instant, Aria immediately felt a tightness in her chest when she saw the situation inside, where the adults were lying sick all over the room, while the young people were busy running here and there to take care of them.

"Cal!" Call someone suddenly. There was a short haired girl running towards them. "Mr. Joe has another headache. Tia has tried to give him some medicine, but…" She complained while looking at the old man who was wincing in pain at the end of the room.

The girl beside him seemed to be trying to give him some medicine, but the man still couldn't stop tossing and rolling around while holding his head.

Cal immediately ran there to help. And Aria, who hastily regained her senses, immediately turned to the courier who had been following them. "Mr. Avo, please bring all the medicine boxes here." She asked and the middle-aged man immediately ran back to the carriage.

"Does the plague cause a headache like that too?" Feny asked.

"The main symptom is actually just a fever. But they also often have a headache and severe bone pain too." Explained Aria.

And after all the medicine boxes came, Aria immediately rummaged through them until she found a small bottle with a blue liquid inside. "Feny, hold this first." She said before she started looking for something else.

It wasn't until she found it that Aria went to Cal's place. Aria had to wait a moment because Cal had just managed to get the man to drink the medicine. But because the man was roaring in pain again, Aria finally stepped forward.

"Cal, let me try." She said. Cal looked doubtful, but in the end he let Aria come closer.

Aria tried to hold the man's head as if trying to see his hair. But because the man was still struggling, she immediately thought of another way. "U-Um, can you help me lay him down on his back? I need to see the back of his neck." She asked later.

Everyone was confused hearing that, but luckily Feny immediately helped Aria and raised her voice towards Cal and the others. "What are you doing? Hurry up and help her turn his body over!" She cried, and finally the kids started helping Aria to turn the man over.

After succeeding, Aria was actually confused about how to do it right. But as if trying to convince herself, she forced her hands to grab the man's neck from behind as if she was trying to strangle him.

Only then did she take out the small iron stick she had taken from the medicine box. The stick was about the size of a pen, but at the end it looked dull like there was a small marble ball in it.

"AAAAA!!" The man had screamed loudly when Aria pressed the iron to the nape of his neck. But right before anyone protested, the man's voice finally trailed off and the tension on his shoulders eased. Only then did Aria ask for the medicine Feny had been holding and gave it to the man. And he began to fall asleep.

But compared to the children who saw that, the first to fall to their knees in relief was Aria herself. 'Rei, I did it!'
