Maybe Both

While watching all the pirates being taken one by one, Loir made sure carefully that all of them were tied before they sent them to the prison. Especially Irigen who had to be completely tied up like a mummy, considering that pirates who can do magic are known to be very slippery and hard to catch.

Only after everyone got into the carriage to be sent to prison, Loir's eyes also turned to the group of victims. Namely a father-daughter pair who turned out to be the owners of the ugly merchant ship, and a young woman who was said to be one of the passengers. And finally Alrei Kransfein, the nobleman whose face is familiar.

Loir already knew that the arrogant noble went out of town for some time, but who would have thought he would come home on a pirate ship. "Meeting a pirate like Irigen... I'm not sure if you're unlucky or not." He said with a little laugh.

With an equally fake smile, Rei replied. "Maybe both."

"Haha. Although I kind of wish you'd just kill him." Replied Loir who then brought his head closer as if whispering. "I doubt my other men can take care of him until we get to sentence him to death."

"Yeah, but I didn't catch him."

"..." Loir took a moment to understand, but then his smile widened again as he turned to the person who was near Rei.

"Ah! I already guessed. It must be this gallant mister who managed to catch him, right?" He said while turning his gaze to the old man. "I guess the saying was right. Experience doesn't lie."

The captain looked a bit taken aback, but then his nostrils immediately swelled up which was followed by a big grin. "Ahem, well, my punches have always been notorious--"

Thump! But before his father could speak any further, fortunately Feny caught Rei's gesture and decided to kick his leg. "You just threw buckets at them, you know." She replied. "The one who caught them was actually her!" She continued.

Following the direction of her finger, Loir turned his gaze to a young woman beside Feny. "Oh, really?" He asked, clearly in disbelief.

Also taken aback, Aria immediately waved her hand. "What? No, I-I just… I mean, everyone's helping out too, so I didn't just…"

"She can use magic." Rei interrupted again. "I don't know how, but she suddenly paralyzed all the pirates, so we just had to tie them up." He explained.

Rei had caught Aria's face who looked confused by his words. But with a short glance, he immediately ordered Alisa to just shut her mouth first.

"Wow, really? You must be a very good one to be able to take care of someone like Irigen." Loir commented, half applauding half curious.

"By the way, I'm Loir Avelias." He said again. "I'm in charge of security at this port. And what is your name, lady, if I may ask?"

"I-I'm Aria." She replied nervously.

"May I also ask--"

"Hey." But Rei interrupted again because Loir looked like he was about to throw another question at Aria. "But do you have any carriage I can use? I need to borrow it to get home. I have a lot of luggage too."

"Oh? Won't your servants come to pick you up?"

"I came back in a hurry, so I didn't have time to notify them."

"Hee, is something wrong?"

"Well, always." He replied flatly and then finally turned back towards Aria. "Don't forget to take your stuff... And you guys too." Rei continued, who fortunately had time to correct his words.

If he only brought Aria, Loir might suspect anything weird. So he quickly decided to bring the captain and his daughter along as well.

"They will all come to your house?"

"They helped me a bit. So I promised to pay back a little." Rei replied casually.

Loir was silent for a moment as if trying to analyze Rei's thoughts. But soon his smile widened again. "Sure, we do have some carriages here." He replied. "But you surely won't mind if I come too? As head of security here--"

"I know! I also wanted to say that, but maybe another time." Rei hurriedly replied. "After taking care of the Irigen and sailing all day, we're very tired right now." He continued.

And before Loir was able to reply again, Rei quickly turned his gaze away from. "So where's the carriage?"
