First encounter

It was early summer when I first met him , the one who played a huge part in placing all the pieces of my life together. I was only 16 years old at that time. My mom was diagnosed with cancer after collapsing at work. It was also the worst day of my life.

My dad found out about our location thanks to my neighbor who called him to inform him about my mom's condition. My father was very abusive towards me and my brother, he blamed me and my brother for all his misfortune and for the fact that my mom loves us more than him. Although I was very young when our mother took us from home in the middle of the night. I remember that it was because my dad beat my mother until she blead very badly and left her to die. My mom woke up and took me and my brother who was seven at that time.

She took all her stuff and the remaining money and left with us in the middle of the night. She was badly injured but she still managed to escape with us. She bought a house with the secret money that she saved all this years without my father knowing. My father was a very wealthy men thanks to the business that he and my mom build when they were young but as years goes by, my father became a different man . He started to keep a lot mistresses and gambled a lot. When things didn't go as planned he would take it out on my mother and then us kids.

I was five and my brother was seven when mom took us away. Mom changed our names back to her maiden name that my father doesn't know about and we lived peacefully. My mom his us from him and got divorced from him two years after we escaped, he had agreed to it because he was in love with his mistress back then and even paid her 150 million for all of her shares in the business they had started together. My mom didn't fuss about it as she wanted to cut off all ties.

It's been eleven years since I had seen him. My mom built her own business from scratch after getting divorce and she has been doing very well since then. My mom is a beautiful woman and because of that she attracted our next door neighbor Mr Langley who's married with five children. His wife Lisbon got very jealous even though my mom had done nothing to offend her.

When she got news of my mom collapsing, she immediately called my father. I have no idea how she got to know him but considering the fact that she's super rich, it won't be difficult to find out any information she needs. The company that my father built with my mom was under going a serious break down after his mistress took all his money and ran away with her lover leaving behind their five year old girl with him. While waiting for my brother to arrive, he arrived from nowhere and started to scold for almost killing his wife by being a burden.

He slapped me and tried to kick me when a man stopped him. That man was wearing an army uniform, and I took the time when he was holding him to call the police. My dad got arrested for assault and I off cause as the youngest law graduate sued him for slander and mental damage. He was so furious that he almost coughed out blood.

When my brother got to the hospital, he was already taken away by the police. That man looked at me and smiled then turned away before I got the chance to say thank you. My mom's surgery went well and she woke up after two days and the first thing she asked me about was why my cheek was swollen and when I told her about what happened with my father, she got really furious that she filled a restraining order against him.

After finding out that Mrs Langley was the one who called him, my mom confronted her about it and she confessed that he was the one who contacted her a few months before. We found out that my mom wasn't really sick, my father was secretly poisoning her and bribed the doctor to lie but since we couldn't find proof , we couldn't pursue this matter. My brother just like me finish high school very early after skipping a few grades, was currently in his master's degree overseas. After hearing what my father did, he pushed forward to graduate early and came back. When he came back, he got rid of all the spies my father placed in my mom's company and threatened to expose him for all he did if he didn't back off out of our lives. After that I heard that my father filled for bankruptcy and he wasn't doing really good with along his daughter.
