Chapter 46: Hunters

Now I really didn’t know what to do. Linc clearly wasn’t pulling any punches, and the people, or rather the members of her pack she’d brought with her clearly wouldn’t either. Felix and I had to get away from here, and we had to do it quickly.

Felix clearly had the same idea and was already climbing to his hands and knees.

That was as far as he got though, because Linc kicked back with her right foot, slamming her heel into Felix’s chin and putting him back down.

I stopped thinking after that.

I had never been angrier in my life when I saw Felix being treated like that. I wasn’t angry at Linc, this wasn’t her, it was this thing that had replaced her. I was angry at myself for letting this happen.

Regardless of who I was angry with, it didn’t change who I took it out on.

I threw myself at Linc, not thinking, only knowing I needed to get her away from Felix.

That turned out to be a mistake.
