Chapter 40: Corrections

Despite the movies, tv shows, and video games I’ve played, I never anticipated that I would have the opportunity to live through a zombie apocalypse. Sure, Jessica’s new followers weren’t shambling undead husks, but at this point it didn’t really matter.

Those followers, now including several members of the coven who had become infected had been trying to break into my lab and yelling at me through the door that I should join them so I could bask in Jessica’s glory and all that. I’d ended up putting my lab on lockdown, magically sealing the entrances. I even propped a chair against the main door for good measure.

Jessica’s followers were still out there, but once they realized they were completely sealed out, they weren’t so aggressive in their attempts to get in.

And that gave me the time and quiet I needed to work.

I had made some progress on finding a way to undo Jessica’s spell, and how it had created this situation.
