Love is complicated. It’s something that takes time and patience to cultivate. Something that needs to be earned. To the young witch Jessica White, love is something that can and should be acquired using magic. Deeply infatuated with Robin heath, captain of her college football team and known playboy, Jessica sets out to turn him into her idealized boyfriend. With the help of her friend Felix, she devises a love spell that will turn Robin into everything she wants him to be. Chapter 38: Blissful Ignorance

I ended up waiting for Robin longer than I expected, but I never doubted he would arrive, and when he did it was with our limo.

While his plan for the evening wasn’t another trip into Manhattan, it was still nice. My spell had spread to the staff of a local, though still fancy, restaurant. A free meal of lobster and fillet mignon, paired with fine wines, and followed by dark chocolate cheesecake awaited us. A meal worthy of a goddess.

Since picking me up and throughout our meal, I’d noticed something different about Robin’s smile. It had a sense of pride to it, though if I didn’t know better, I might have called it smugness. It didn’t take anything away from him though.

If anything, the touch of smugness added a new element to my gentle giant. Something enticing. By the time we were finishing our dessert, I knew I had to ask about it.
