{He twirled me around, just like the ballerinas do in a music box. His golden-brown eyes shone with amusement.

"I'm surprised you didn't fall," He chuckles, pulling me into his arms, inches away from my flushed face, that reddened from his hot breath.

"Oh shut up! I'm not that clumsy," I fume, smacking his shoulder and pulling his face just an inch away from my lips before looking into his eyes, his face hot and breathing rapid. I turn my face and direct myself to his ear.

"Oops," I whisper, my voice slow and full of lust.

He chuckles, "You know they say you shouldn't play with fire," before he dips me and pulls me back up, twirling me into his arms once more, planting soft kisses on my heated neck. His kisses arose a fire within me, it felt like hot pools of lava scattered on my neck, however, it held no pain, only a sensational feeling. A feeling I had never felt before him. }

My eyes flew open, I started breathing heavily and my body felt on fire with heat flushes. My hands race to cool down my face and to help me understand what was going on. I hadn't thought about him since he moved away, and since he broke my heart. I knew that if anything went wrong in that relationship I would be tortured and tormented for a long time, maybe even forever. My mind had pushed that knowingness away from me when we met and continued our rendezvous. I sigh, this was going to be a long night.

I reach to my bedside table to turn on my lamp, it took me a couple seconds to adjust to this sudden light. I pushed aside my blankets and placed my feet on the carpeted floor beneath me, soft like cashmere. I turned and grabbed my black slab, dialling a number I knew too familiar. Alexandre.

The rings were prolonged and forbidding, I shouldn't be doing this, yet, why did I feel the urge to do so?

"Evelyn?" A deep, weary voice pondered.

I breathed heavily, "Alex," I greet.

"Evelyn, I –" I reach for the red button, indicating the ending of a conversation and press it.

I hated him, yet I loved him so. I should just forget about him, so I say every time I want to reach out to him, this is the first time I've had nearly enough confidence to dial him. "Stupid," I curse under my breath.

Just as I place my phone down a ringing erupts, I turn to look at the screen to see his name, Alexandre, I turn my phone so the screen is facing down and grabbed my empty glass, wanting to fill it up.

I walk out my door and into the kitchen, a cake sitting on the stove, reminiscing of tonight's events. I chuckled thinking to myself of Julia and Emily throwing bits of batter on each other's face and me getting in the crossfire, eventuating in us all laughing and licking the batter off our faces.

I turn the cold-water knob, a stream of silk pouring into my glass. I drink the contents, the cold-water soothing my dry throat. "Ahh" I moan in relief. I place the glass into the sink and walk back towards my bedroom, it's warm light welcoming me in on this cool evening.

My eyes immediately stare at my bed and my legs longed to finally rest. As soon as I reached the bed I jumped in, pulled the covers on top of me and attempted to close my eyes long enough, tricking my body into falling asleep.

"You'll never guess what happened last night," A sweet voice sing-songs.

"Oh gosh, knowing you I don't even want to know," A deeper voice expresses.

I roll my eyes, "Oh no, what happened last night Caroline?" I question, adding a little sarcasm to my tone.

"I met the hottest guy in the whole world,"

"And all night he was speaking sweet nothingness into my ear in Spanish, I don't know what he said but I don't care," She says giggling like a school girl.

Julia physically slaps her forehead and I laugh uncontrollably. "He could've been saying anything, even, 'Oo I love your toes,' and you were drooling over him!" Julia scolds, giggling even more than I now.

Caroline rolls her eyes, "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that rude comment and continue fantasizing about my beautiful lover boy," Caroline sarcastically remarks.

"Ha, do you at least have a date with him tonight?" I question, smiling widely in amusement.

She rolls her mystical grey eyes, which held specks of brown flakes. "Yes, as a matter-of-a-fact, I do," She announces proudly, her golden locks moving the movement of her head.

"Wait, really?" Julia says shocked, "Congratulations Car!"

Caroline's mouth widens into a smile, "Good on your Caroline, maybe he was speaking sexy sweet nothingness into your ear," I wink, chirpily.

She giggles, "We'll have to see, he does talk a little bit of English, but he prefers to speak his home language," She informs, taking a big sip out of her mocktail. Caroline hated drinking.

"We are definitely going to come and check him out tonight, we'll be unsuspicious though," I inform, looking over into Julia's warm, ice blue eyes.

"Oh god no, you are not taking Julia," Caroline commands, her eyebrows raising and her expression bewildered.

"Ow, why not? I'd be so fun!" Julia protests, her petite, button nose crinkling.

"You would interrogate this man," Caroline says crossly.

Julia rolls her eyes, "Of course I would! I want to see if he's right for you!"

I look down at my watch, 12:49pm, "Crap" I curse.

"Guy's I have to go I'm going to be late for my meeting," I announce, grabbing my jacket and purse and pushing in my seat.

"Oo, meeting with your new business venture," Julia pesters, throwing a wink in for me.

"It's so not like that, I just have to sign the contact for my boss," I say, shutting down Julia's false conclusion.

She giggles and shortly after Caroline joins in. I roll my eyes in protest and hug them each before rushing off towards my car, which was happily planted a kilometre away from me. "Great" I mutter, annoyance bubbling in me. I place my black suit jacket over my shoulders and pushed my glasses on my eyes, shielding me from the sun's rays which chirped happily today.

1:01pm

I was late, by a minute. It was the perfect way to introduce myself to the client my company was supposed to be signing a contract with. I pull open the opaque glass door only for my mouth to drop wide open.

"Sorry, I'm late –"

My eyes settled on the man sitting in front of me, staring at me with his mouth wide open too. Oh, if this day couldn't get any worse.
