1 Prologue
Nothing can be more well known than the story of the ascension of two young gods at the same time, side-by-side arriving in front of heaven's gate and the misfortunes they encountered.
According to legends, the two gods, Yu Wang, and Shen Xuan, who ascended at the same time lived a completely different life while being in the mortal realm. Yu Wang was said to have come from a noble family in the northern border of Xiang Xie continent while Shen Xuan was no different and lower from a beggar.
Their first encounter was in front of heaven's gate and, so was their first conversation.
Becoming a god at a young age, Yu Wang strived for what was being expected of him. Filling his role as a god, much like as to when he was in the mortal realm, doing things that are essential to keep his face. On the other hand, Shen Xuan was doing the exact opposite of what Yu Wang was doing.
He did not bother thinking what the other gods are thinking of him, nor did he not care about what they see him as. In the mortal world, he does whatever he wants, be it mischievous deeds all day long, no one was there to tell him to behave. Well, to begin with, he does not have anyone, therefore, it was only natural for someone like him to not get told what to do.
But in heaven, Yu Wang was there. Yu Wang was filling the empty space Shen Xuan has. Whenever he lay down for a few minutes or starts to doze off, Yu Wang was there to pester him about not doing anything.
As time passes, the two young gods became close friends. Closer than anyone above thought was possible. Neither of the two refuses to leave the other alone even just for a quick moment.
Though even in the heavens, misfortunes still happens. Three years after Shen Xuan's ascension, he descended to the mortal realm after failing to execute his duty as a god. Yu Wang was left alone with a heavy heart and a spot beside him that was Shen Xuan's place.
A year after Shen Xuan's descension, a message was sent to the heaven's to let all the gods know that Shen Xuan became the demon king. The news itself added more heaviness and sadness to Yu Wang, but it did not stop him from hating the said person.
With Shen Xuan's lawless actions sent the heaven's in panic making them hunt for his head. With Yu Wang's disappointment and hatred to the person he once called brother, he himself joined the hunt.
Shen Xuan's death brought all the realms back to peace yet it was Yu Wang's turn to face tribulation. Yu Wang descended in the mortal realm on the following year of Shen Xuan's death.
After his own descension, Yu Wang returned to his own family. He noticed a lot of dissimilarities between him, a former god and a normal human being. He no longer age nor does feel any hunger or the need to eat. His immortality was rooted deeply within him.
Six hundred years, six centuries of suffering from loneliness, six centuries of feeling incompleteness, six centuries of waiting and once again he meets his old companion, the one whom he used to call Ah-Xuan.

"I choose death a long time ago, Yu Wang. I asked for it countless times," grasping the sword tight with his bare hands, causing more blood to gush out of his tattered and damaged body. "And it has declined my request for so many times already, so I ask you, Yu Wang, the god of the white lotus', not as the Shen Xuan that you know but as Shen Xuan the demon lord that you do not know."
"Give me death granted by you."
