CHAP 6: BIG DAY

SKYLER POV

     I was in the middle of an entertaining conversation with this beautiful brunette girl when my phone started vibrating.

I was planning on ignoring it and just focus on the lady before me but she insisted I should pick the call so I decided to at least check the caller ID. That way after checking I would simply tell her it's nothing important and continue our discussion.

But my plans radically changed when I saw who was calling. There was no way I could miss this call. I excused myself and left to attend to the call.

"Hello bestie! Miss me already?" I teased

"Shut up! I'm not in the mood to listen to any of your crap right now!" He sounded vexed

"Wow chill bro! You seem to be pissed. What's popping up?" I asked

"Elijah!" Immediately I frowned.

"What's your problem dude? Why you mentioning that guy's name?" I asked creasing my eyebrows.

"That's because he will be staying at the mansion" he said still sounding pissed.

"What! You serious?!... that man is synonym of danger!" I exclaimed

Why on earth will he accept to live with that man? And if Elijah is coming then I guess that fucker of KG too!

"Got no choice... orders from above" he explained.

"You mean your father?"

"Yeah!"

I knew it! Jason has never had the balls to kick against his dad's will. I can't blame him though... that man is freaking scary!

"So what's the plan?" I asked in a serious tone

"I want you to keep an eye on them." He ordered sternly

I huffed. I hate doing that!

"It's no big deal. I'm sure my dad is sending them just to keep watch over me." He stated

"Hold on... if it's not much of a deal to you, why did you sound so pissed when you called?" I questioned him.

I know Jay... there must be some other reason.

"That's surely because of that foolish girl from earlier." He uttered in irritation.

"Which girl?" I asked raising my brow.

"A useless girl who had the audacity to speak back at me!"

"Wow! .. I wish I were there to watch that" I scoffed.

"You on the other hand seem to be in a good mood... why?"

"That's because I just met with a pretty interesting girl here at the office" I said wiggling my eyebrows and grinning widely.

"Don't tell me you found another side chick to entertain you?!" He sounded slightly amused.

"Of course not. Who do you take me for... you?" I retorted.

"Good cause you know I don't want you fucking with my employees.... keep things professional Skyler!" He ordered sternly.

"Firstly, she isn't your employee yet. Besides I wasn't planning on going that far with her. I just find her pretty and interesting." I explained.

"That's what you always say before getting them in your sheets!"

"That's enough Jay!" I yelled gaining weird stares from people around.

Beep.....

I checked my phone and realised he had already hanged up.

How dare he hang up on me?!

I kept my phone in my pocket and headed back to where I had left pretty.

But when I returned she was no longer there. I didn't even get to know her name nor her contact.

"Arghhh!" I groaned.

"Damn you Jay!" I uttered in frustration licking my bottom lip.

...

It was the big day. The Ceo's arrival at the office.

When we first stepped into the enterprise, I could feel the atmosphere tense up. There was dead silence in the lobby. No one spoke nor made a move. All the employees kept their heads low not daring to meet with his gaze.

We made our way towards the private lift heading for his office. Jayson moved ahead with an imposing dark aura while I trailed behind him as usual.

As a business man it is important for him to be imposing and charismatic. He is feared by most people that's true but...this has caused him to become alooflier and arrogant.

Some few minutes later we were in his office. Jayson was seated on his chair reading a particular document while I was in the couch scrolling on my phone.

"Skyler" I heard Jayson call out.

"Humm!" I hummed still not taking off my head from my phone screen.

"Where's the list of those selected as potential candidates to the post of PA?" He asked and that's when I jerked my head towards him.

"Shit! I left it in the car!"

"Go get it. I need it right now" he ordered.

"Damn Jay! That's far!" I whined.

"Then I conclude you've changed your mind about you no longer been my PA right?" He smirked.

This guy was trying to use this as an excuse to keep me as his PA. Can't believe this!

"That's lame dude!" I chuckled

"At least I tried." He shrugged

"I can't keep up with this post and you know why. Don't you?... don't worry the people I selected are as competent as I am. You just have to choose amongst them which you like most or rather the one you dislike least." I spoke as I stood up to go get the list.

I could see him rolling his eyes at my last phrase and pouting causing me to chuckle.

Now this was the Jayson I liked spending time with. Most people don't get to see this side of his. He always keeps a cold and Ruthless demeanor in front of others.

"Also while coming back get me a cup of black coffee from the coffee shop beside." He stated and returned to the document he was reading.

Another thing with this dude is that he didn't know the definition of politeness. You would never hear him using words like ''please'' or "thank you" but I'm kind of used to it now.

.....

The thought of getting him coffee and the list sounded too much work to me. Yeah I know I'm lazy! So I spotted one bald headed man and asked him to take care of the coffee task.

"Make sure not to add any poisonous substance into this.. if not I promise to find you and kill you" I spoke sternly narrowing my eyes at him.

"Y-Yes s-sir" he stuttered and ran off.

Intimidation! The fastest way to get someone do something correctly. I learned this from Jay. Though unlike him I do not carry a dark aura all the time. I only manifest mine when I'm angry or when I have to be intimidating. When people see switching from amicable to cold they are shocked and terrified.  The only people aside Jay who ever saw me in that mode are no longer alive to testify about it.

I moved to the car and started searching for the list. It took me some time but I finally found it. I grabbed it along with the contract and headed back to his office.

.....

As I stepped out of the lift I bumped into someone.

Immediately I recognised her. The girl I had been looking for

"Pretty!" I was so happy to see her.

She looked up at me in surprise and gasped. I couldn't help but chuckle when I heard the nickname she had given to me but I also noticed she seemed to be stressed and was trying to hide it.

We chatted for some time and I decided to ask her why she was troubled.

"Mr Jerk is a man with whom I querrelled the day of the interview. The head of my department asked me to take coffee to the Ceo's office and I did so. But when I reached there i realised that it was Mr Jerk the Ceo. Out of huge shock I stumbled and spilled out all the coffee on him. At first he was angry to see me there but he got even madder after I spilled the coffee. I'm so dead Sky!" She said biting her lips and placing her hand on her forehead.

Shit!

If I get it right then this means that Mr Jerk is actually Jay and the girl whom Jayson has been insulting for days now is Jackling!

Now I get why Jackling is in this state. If I were in her shoes I would be terrified too. Seeing her in distress like that really saddened me.

I have to do something! After all, it's my fault.

"Relax! Nothing will happen to you. Just go back to your department and stay as far as possible from the Ceo. I promise you won't get fired" I assured her.

We exchanged contacts and she left for the lift while I made my way to Jay's office.

I stepped in and spotted the mess Jackling had made in the office. Jayson carried a big scowl on his face as he put on a new white shirt. Probably one he got from his set of change of clothes he always kept in his office should in case he spent the night there.

"What happened here?" I feigned ignorance

"It's that foolish girl! The one I told you about. Apparently she works here. She caused this mess and ruined my clothes. She's surely going to pay for this" he sounded really pissed.

"What are you gonna do?" I asked. Though I knew pretty much the answer.

"Fire her! What else?!"

I knew it.

"Hold up dude.... don't you think firing her is too easy. I mean... she could just find another job and that's it."

First I need to persuade him that firing her is not ideal.

Trying to manipulate Jay is like trying to disarm a bomb. I needed to be extra careful

"You're right! I will fire her and place her on black list. That way she won't be able to get a job from any other company" he smirked buttoning up his shirt.

No! That's not what I want! Looks like I'm making matters worst.

"Listen up Jay.... firing her is not as good idea!" I stated trying to gain time to create a portable reason to support my argument.

"Why?" He inquired creasing his brows.

"Because...  huh... I think it would be better to have her work under you. You could use her as you like. Even turn her into your personal slave. Besides if this girl you're talking about was employed here it means she's competent. It would be wastage to let go of her"

He thought for some time and flashed his devilish smirk.

"I agree with you. Firing her it's too easy... I'm going to make her life a living hell here."

The good news is that I could convince him not to fire her but the bad news is that I had a bad feeling about all this.

Maybe me trying to quench the fire did nothing but re-kindle it.

After putting on his suit, he moved out the office.

"Where are you going to?" I asked

"Going to get my new PA" he uttered before moving towards the lift.

Of course I followed him. I needed to know how this would end.

JAYSON POV

Skyler had a great idea! Letting that girl go without giving her an adequate punishment would not be suitable.

Taking her as my new PA seemed to be the right punishment to give her. Once I will be done using and destroying her I will fire her.

I was in my office seated in my chair waiting for her to report to my office like I had asked her earlier.

Needed to see the look on her face when I told her she was now my PA. It was priceless! Soon there was a knock on the door.

"Come in"

She stepped in and stood before us. Yeah Skyler was present too. For an unknown reason she kept on staring at Skyler.

Did she like him?

I seized this opportunity to glance at her and I had to say...she looked completely different from the dirty and unattractive  girl I met some days ago.

She was dressed in a black pencil skirt and white blouse which she matched with corresponding black heels.

This outfit made her look smart and professional. It also brought out her beautiful curves.

She neither was skinny nor fat. She had a normal size and also what most people called a perfect body. One which could make any man drool.

The sun rays that were penetrating through the big glass window came settling on her, causing her brown skin to glow.

She had her dark shinny hair tied into a neat bun and she didn't seem to wear any makeup on her face except for her lips gloss.

She looked gorgeous!

Soon she turned her attention towards me.

Shit! She caught me staring. But she didn't look bothered by it... or was she?

"Sir you asked me to report to your office"  she spoke boldly with no hint of fear in her voice.

"What's your name?" I asked

"Jackling Kyle sir."

"Well miss Kyle as I said earlier, you now work here as my new PA" I spoke as a matter of fact.

"But sir, I was employed in this enterprise as  a CS agent not to work as your PA. I have no qualifications for this job.  I refuse to be your PA sir" she voiced out.

Normally I would find such doughty attitude vexing! But the fact that this little lamb spoke out her mind so bravely without even stuttering intrigued me.

"Bold! Aren't we?" I smirked.

"Miss Kyle, I'm the Ceo of this enterprise, I own it. I decide who gets employed and at what post. It's either you work here as my PA or you don't work here at all!"

I find her interesting that's true! But she needed to know who's the boss here!

At this point she kept silent. She seemed to be in deep thoughts. I watched her bite her lips and I had to say I found it freaking seductive.

She was still in the middle of her thoughts when Skyler went and stood beside her

Why was he acting with so much familiarity  towards her?

"Just accept his offer Jackling... it's always better than nothing right?!" I heard him say.

She took in a deep breath and faced me.

"Fine Mr Ceo. I accept!"

"Wise choice miss Kyle!" I smirked.

"Skyler the contract" I gestured to Skyler.

"Right here" Skyler said and placed the contract on the desk.

I signed and offered her the pen.

Lets see if this little lamb is ready to take up this challenge! I smirked.

She grabbed the pen from my hands and signed the contract without any hesitation.

Little do you know the hellish situation you just stepped into.

Yes miss Kyle you literally just came from signing a pact with the devil!
