Chapter 5 - Travel

Packing their things they went to their next destination.

Heading out of the city they entered the sands, they were going for Red Sand city, a big city inside the Red Sand desert.

"Daad, is this city any good? It's in the middle of a wasteland, only sand in sight and also it's so hot, will there be even water and food? I'm worried we will die at this rate." Kyoko was sweating a lot and felt like this desert was hell itself.

"Haha my dear, there's no need to be worried, Red Sand city is one of the best places in Blue Phoenix kingdom, it's are a big oasis in the middle of Red Sand desert, lots of water and some of the best food, lots of places to swim and really beautiful views, also they have lots of good hotels so we won't need to camp outside the city like in the last one." Kenshin was already looking forward to having a good time in the city and he knew his daughter would love it, it has been some time since they had some good fun, and also the dojo master in that city was really strong.

"Waaa, let's run there Dad, i don't want to be in this hot place longer, i want to go to this paradise, we will sleep in a perfect place, play in the water, learn lots of good recipes, eat 'til my stomach can't take anything more." She was already running towards their destination with her face full of happiness, drooling and even forgetting the heat.

"Haha, let's go Kyoko, i see now you're excited for it." Increasing his pace Kenshin easily catched up with her as they went fast towards Red Sand city.

"Woah, it's all so beautiful!" Entering the city Kyoko was in awe as she saw everything around.

"Didn't i tell you that was the best place to stay?" Kenshin had already been there a few times but still he wasn't able to hide his excitement.

The city had several waterfalls were you could see people jumping and small lakes were they were bathing, everywhere you looked at you could easily see lots of beautiful trees and flowers coloring the place with all the colors you could think of and the buildings around were all built in a traditional architecture with exquisite materials, the wood in the houses looked like it was sent directly from heaven and all the decorations were made of pure gold.

"Isn't the city pretty my dear? It receives tons of tourists and also merchants that sleep here while crossing Red Sand desert, so it's all built to attract guests, and the natural scenery here also helps a lot." Walking around while trying to find a place to stay Kenshin couldn't help but look everywhere like a little kid.

"Dad, it's amazing! Everything is so pretty and the waterfalls and lakes look so fun!" If the father was like a little kid, the daughter was really tempted to run around trying everything in sight, sadly for her Kenshin was holding her hand and she couldn't do it, but at least there would be enough time for looking around while they were here.

Soon they found a good hotel with vacant bedrooms and got one, entering it Kyoko soon was jumping in her comfy bed and looking through the window to see the good view outside.

"So, now that we have got a place to spend the night do you want to go have some fun?" Kenshin was quite satisfied with this place, so now to complete the day they would enjoy the city and rest.

"YES! Let's go to the waterfall first, and then a lake, and then eat lots of things, and then and then!" Kyoko hurriedly run towards the door already heading to the nearest waterfall and planning all the day.

"Waah!" Both father and daughter sit in the top of the and the water current carried them at top speed towards the bottom.

*Splash* Hitting the water they were laughing as the adrenaline rushed through their bodies and they started playing with the water.

"Hehe, take that Dad!" Throwing water at his face she quickly avoided his water shot while laughing at him.

"Haha, i will catch you now you will see it!" Turning and using his legs he created a wave that hit Kyoko without leaving a chance to dodge.

"Coff Coff. No way it's impossible to win from you Dad, sooo, let's go up the waterfall again!" She was already running towards the highest part and waiting for her father that soon followed after her.

"Swimming competition! Let's see who gets to the other side of this lake first." Kyoko was excited and willing to try hard to beat her Dad in a competition.

"Ok dear, let's do it, i will count to three and we go." One, two three, they both started swimming in an amazing speed while trying to reach the other side that was a few kilometers from them.

Kyoko dashed ahead at full speed and Kenshin soon followed after her, it was just a moment before they already were almost reaching the other side, the daughter already knew she would lose but still tried her hardest to make a good match and it was going well, she was paired up with her dad.

Looking to his side and seeing Kyoko still right behind him Kenshin was happy, he was holding back but still a year ago she wouldn't be able to be in pair with his current speed, while he was in his proud father moment his speed almost came to a halt and he passed him winning.

"Haha Dad on your face! I won fair and square!" His daughter was surprised having won, she didn't get why he slowed down so much at the end but nothing could rip the happiness of her chest.

"Tsk tsk tsk, i did bad this time, but eh, some times you have to lose." He was a bit disappointed with the way he lost, but seeing his daughter like this he was ok with it.

After that they ate lots of candies and a huge feast with all kinds of dishes, they were eating til the restaurant manager became frightened, but as the saying goes, paying well what bad can it be? He was earning a huge profit today.

Coming to their bedroom the father-daughter duo changed to their sleeping clothes and prepared to sleep after a good day but soon a really strong storm started, with heavy rain and lightnings every minute.

"D-dad! Too many lightnings, i'm scared!" Kyoko was trembling at the sight of the lightnings and the high noises of thunder.

"Oh dear, you're a super strong girl now right? No need to fear those things my love." Kenshin was trying to show his daughter that there was no need to be scared, but with each noise she only got more frightened.

"Come here Kyoko, hug Dad and i will protect you ok? Not even a lightning can hurt you if i'm here." He spread his arms open while calling his daughter and she jolted to hug him.

Calming down they both got to sleep and end this day.
