15 Reconciliation

There was silence in the garden as Liveda moved closer to Mariline. He knew that she was angry , he knew that she didn't want to have a conversation with him but he couldn't help it. She was someone whose existence threatened his throne yet she was his mate and she was just so pretty that he melted by staring at her.

"Mariline, please talk to me," he pleaded, feeling restless under her silent gaze. Her mesmerizing green eyes seemed to penetrate his soul, and he couldn't help but feel nervous. It wasn't every day that an angelic figure like her stared at him in such a way. Liveda couldn't decipher her thoughts, and it bothered him. A shiver ran down his spine, reminiscent of a golden palace. Mariline was in his arms, hugging me tightly. It was an unexpected move she played.

"I thought you weren't real. I missed you so much, Liv. You never visited me again, and now I come to the land I hate only to find you labeled as Prince... I hate you," she said, ending the hug abruptly. His throat felt dry, and confusion clouded his mind. She missed me, yet she claimed to hate me? Liveda wondered.

"I love you," He blurted out, causing her eyes to widen and her body to shift uncomfortably. He immediately regretted his own words and covered my face with my hand, muttering an apology. They had only met twice, both times in her dreams. And yet, he had uttered these powerful words to her. There was something pulling him closer to her, as if she had been marked as his since her birth.

"You... you... mmm, love me? Men!" she stammered and face palmed herself, and for a brief moment, Liveda thought he saw a smile on her face before it disappeared behind a mask of uncertainty. Could this be a positive sign for him?

"Forget I said that, Mari. You already believe I'm lying. But I'm not. I'm addicted to you. I promise you won't regret it. Just give me one chance, please," Liveda rambled, desperate for her to respond. It was unlike him to beg, but he felt utterly helpless around her. Love or perhaps the mating bond had transformed him into someone he didn't recognize.

"One chance, Liv. I don't want to regret it either," Mariline finally replied. Liveda's smile widened so much that it almost hurt. The sound of her laughter filled his ears, harmonious and beautiful. Everything felt right again, and they resumed their normal conversation. She was afraid that he would harm her because of his status as the crown prince . She tried explaining to him that she didn't think she was the chosen one and he just smiled and shook his head

So she didn't even know how lucky she was? While Liveda had once harbored such intentions of hurting her, even his monster was infatuated with her now. He reassured her of his loyalty and protection before they joined Roberto and Marley.

"This is going to make us fathers," Berto joked, and Liveda felt the urge to strangle him. How could he say something like that?
