13 The Search

The whole room changed and I was suddenly in a room without light. The room was filled with different things that must have been here for a very long time. Hell, there were even real swords and shields here. The things dumped here varied from swords to magic tomes to porn magazines and time turners.

'Too bad, none of the time turners are functional. They are all broken.'

The moment I opened my mage sight, my eyes were suddenly assaulted by the abundance of dark magic here. The pain lasted for a few minutes before it subsided.

'What the hell was that?!'

I slowly opened my Mage Sight and slowly took in the surroundings. I realized that lots of books about different topics are just dumped here. Maybe because the information written here is too outdated or too dark. The librarian must have ordered the house elves to remove these books from the library, but having nothing to dump these things on, they decided this room suited their needs. I picked up books about rituals, curses, useful charms, spells, runes, and topics that discussed enchantments.

'What a waste of resources. This is basically a treasure trove! People are being afraid of Dark Arts that they overlooked their benefits! That must be why magic was stagnating. I heard that Merlin's time was the golden age of magic. I think because people back then were not hindered by the idea of Dark magic corrupting the user. The rise of Dark lords must have forced people to either restrict the books about some subjects or worse, abandon it.'

After picking up the interesting books I've found, I went back to my original business here. Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem. I tried scanning the whole room with my Mage Sight, and I easily found it. Horcrux is the vilest magic after all. No wonder that thing emits so much Dark magic that it's blinding me. I followed the trail until I found the tiara lying on a desk there. Despite the fact that the tiara was tainted, the Sapphire engraved there was very fascinating. The way the tiara was crafted was very beautiful too, even if some of its elegance faded with time.

There was no defense mechanism like the other Horcruxes so I instantly grabbed it and put in inside my robe pocket.

Shortly after that, I requested for a room where I can purify a Horcrux since I have no plan on destroying this treasure, and I have the means to purify that soul.

I was brought to a different room with markings on the floor. The floor was obviously changed, especially the space in the center of the room. There I put the tiara and started the purifying. I can already cast the Fire Patronus non-verbally, although I am still practicing doing it wandlessly.

'Inferius Patronum.' I chanted as the familiar fire came out of my wand in the shape of a wolf. The wolf stood beside me vigilantly, his attention on the tiara. My Patronus must have felt the presence of Horcrux.

I willed the wolf then to purify the fragmented soul inside without destroying the tiara and Ravenclaw's magic. The wolf stood there, then pounced on the tiara. Disappearing for a second before getting outside of the diadem. The tiara burned for a few seconds until a horrifying scream was heard across the room. There was no familiar smoke like in the movies, but I saw how the soul was burned until its existence disappeared. I'm sure Voldemort will be pissed if one of his Horcruxes was already destroyed. Though he won't be able to feel it since he still does not have his body.

I flopped on the ground while breathing deeply. I have no idea what would happen as I don't know how my magic will react to the tiara. I only know that it can destroy things that I will it to. But I was a bit afraid that the tiara and the magic will disappear too. Thankfully, the results were as expected and nothing wrong came out of it.

I took the Tiara and observed it carefully. With my Mage Sight, I saw that some of the magic diminished as it supplied magic to the soul, but it was unnoticeable, and the tiara can absorb magic from the surroundings. Especially Hogwarts where magic is very thick. The tiara will have an unlimited amount of magic supply that powered up its enchantments. Every rune and enchantment is very complex that I can't discern a thing even if I've read up a lot from the school library and grandfather's journal. I tried putting on the tiara and I felt my mind feel clear, I immediately understand the things I have been studying for a long while. Hell, I already understand the theories behind the spells I've been working on. Things that I can't explain before were very clear to me now.

'I'll abuse the hell out of this cheat.' I grinned wickedly.

But first, I need to wear it without anyone noticing. I can't just roam around the hallways and attend classes with a tiara on my head. The headmaster might even recognize the tiara and take it away from me. I will eventually return this, but in the meantime, this thing will be mine to use. I'm a Ravenclaw after all, and knowledge is what I truly seek. I am sure Rowena will be proud of me.

'Hm, what should be a good accessory?'

Then I remembered the Grindelwald's symbol. It's actually the Deathly Hallow's symbol, but grandfather was very obsessed with it that he made it the logo of his notorious group. Well, I can just say that it is a family heirloom or something if anyone notices.

'Would I be considered a terrorist if I wore that logo?'

Nah, even Xenophilius has a necklace with the logo, and he was not criticized for it. Although, Viktor Krum was upset about it.

So what I did is transfigure the tiara into a silver chain with the famous Grindelwald logo. I put it on my neck and felt that the enchantments are still affecting me. Good.

So I happily skipped across the hallway feeling happy and satisfied. I course, it's not every day you will see one of the Founders' relics.

"I expect you to watch the match, Fred." Cho smiled.

"Yeah, right." I sighed. It's not like you'll win the match anyway. You're against one Harry Potter. And canon will make it so that the protagonist wins the match.

'I'll just keep teasing her when that happens.' I grinned. Yeah, I'll do that.

"And don't ever think of leaving. It will be unfortunate if I 'accidentally' slipped into the captain that you've been teaching me." She said while making a sad face. Did she just mock me?

"Yeah right, like that will even affect me. Bye Cho." I quickly ran away from her. I feel death is coming for me the more time I stay there. I very much love my life, thank you.

It's been a few days since I found the tiara, and I was very glad that I took it from that room. Every lesson is very clear to me, and I had ideas on how I can even improve spells. The effects are tremendous that I can very much cast every spell I know wandlessly except the Fire Patronus.

On the other hand, I have been really annoyed in the past few days. The trio kept stalking me whenever I leave the class. Misleading them has already wasted a lot of my time that I could have used improving my spells!

So one day, I decided to finally confront them.

'Homenum Revelio' A swooping feeling traveled across the corridor. Revealing three markers that were hiding in the intersection.

"Come out, I can see you," I said.

"How did you find us?" Harry spoke first.

"Don't start, Potter," I spoke. I was getting really annoyed by them.

"You're being suspicious you know? You kept disappearing after classes, and you only come down when it's dinner." Ron accused.

"Can't I have my own privacy? You're three are being rude you know?" I spoke back. That shut him up since what I said is definitely true.

"I just wanted to ask, how did you defeat the troll? There were no spells that can knock out trolls in the Hogwarts Curriculum. Much less the first year books! And don't answer me with 'magic', Fred" Hermione interrogated.

"What are you on Hermione? I already said I'm not involved with the troll. And if I do, why would I tell you?" I there a question back.

"We think that Snape is up to something, but we don't know what. We also think he's the culprit behind the troll incident." Harry finally spoke. I already know what the three are up to. Anyone knows if they have read the books or at least watched the movie. And I don't want to be involved with them in anything at all. Trouble always comes when you associate yourself with them.

"And why are you telling me that?" I asked.

"Because you must have seen him when you knocked out the troll." It was Ron. He was quiet earlier, I don't know what got him to speak.

"I already told you I'm no way involved with that!"

"Yes, you do!" Ron said.

"What's your proof then?" I questioned them, not just Ron.

"White hair, advanced spells. Also, this place is very much near to where the troll was knocked out," Hermione said, sure of herself. Goddamn, this girl is hella smart it's so annoying. I must think of an alibi. Hm, what if I directed them to Quirrel? They'll face him eventually in the end. Yeah, let's do that.

"Are you sure I'm the only one who has white hair?" I asked.

"Of course! White hair is very rare to have and your family has plenty of it." Ron spoke loudly.

"Did you check everyone? What about those people who always cover their heads?" I led them to their own conclusion.

"Dumbledore is old, definitely he has white hair!" Ron the idiot said. I almost facepalmed myself at that.

"Professor Quirrel! His turban must have come off when he fainted in the hall!" Good job Hermione! What would these boys do without you?

The three's eyes widened at the realization. Well, it makes sense too. Only the teachers and the Headmaster are able to defeat a troll.

"I'm sorry for accusing you, Fred." Harry apologized first. Then Hermione and Ron followed, although reluctantly.

"Apology accepted. Now that you now have your conclusion, I will now go back to my business. Now stop stalking me!" I warned them before walking down the corridor with a huff. The three didn't follow me after that.

My free time is now mine. No interruptions and no stalkers. Just me and the lovely room.

'What should I work on? My long term project will take a long time before I can completely decipher all the wards. 5 years at most? Then I'll study unsupported flight so, by the start of my second year, I can already fly without brooms. '

5 years spent in deciphering the wards of the room is already very short. If I do it without the diadem, it will take me at least 10 years. And I can't afford to wait that long.

There was also a surprising effect after I wore my necklace. From the giant repelling spell, I managed to modify its strength and purpose, creating a much more powerful spell than Bombarda Maxima. I call it the Oblitegra Totalis spell. The power of this spell is very huge that it can destroy a 10 story building. I already removed the recoil effect too so it was very much complete.

I also started to train telekinesis in my past time since I have a theory that Voldemort used his telekinesis ability to lift himself. Although I don't know how he achieved the smoke effect in his flight. But I think it looks cool. My progress so far is that I can lift a 15-kilogram object. It's very convenient that the room provides me things that I can practice my telekinesis on. I developed telekinesis by willing my magic to form an invisible force that can manipulate an object in any way. I got inspired by the Star Wars franchise, so I was hyped up. The concept was different from the levitating charm which just makes the object float, the Accio spell which recalls any object you want, and the banishing charm which pushes your target away.

So I practiced the three spells while feeling and sensing the movement of magic through Mage sight. The magic moves differently when each spell was cast, so I tried every movement I can think of by trial-and-error. Eventually, I got the hang of it and started lifting simple objects and making the move in the air. By the 3rd day, I can already lift 15-kilogram objects in the air. All made possible by Rowena's Diadem. I can only use my telekinesis with my wand, so I plan on training wandless psychokinesis after one week.

But for now, I'm satisfied. This can wait for a few days after Cho's match.
