1 Prologue

It was a pitch-black night. A mother cradled the baby in her arms. "Darling," she cried quietly nuzzling inside a man's arms. "We have to be quiet, mon amour," the man replied, pushing her inside the alley.

"You can't hide from us," voices yelled, as they heard people running towards them. "We're getting a lot of money," another voice yelled, as the married couple sneaked deeper into the alley.

"Shh, be quiet, mon petit ange," the mother soothed the crying child. "Maman," the baby cried. "If this was any other situation, I'll be happy that our child said her first word."

"Come on, we'd better hide," the mother smiled, and ran with her husband and child deeper into the alley. "Wait, we should leave Merida here, so then whoever is coming after us, doesn't hurt her. She is the heir of the throne," the father smiled sadly, knowing that they'd probably never see little Meri again.

"I don't want to, but I'm guessing we'll have to."

"Goodbye, Little Merida," both parents smiled sadly, as the baby's mother, slowly put a necklace engraved with the name 'Merida' over her neck. "Goodbye, mon petit ange," the mother hugged her child for the last time. "Don't cry when we leave," the father silently cried. "Papa," the baby laughed as her dad broke into tears and her mum pushed him away from their only child.

And they ran. They ran out of the alleyway, so then those killers, wouldn't find their child. "There they are," they yelled holding a large knife. "You can't escape your destiny," another one yelled and chucked the knife that stabbed the father. "Nooooo! Arthur!" The female yelled jumping up. "Leave, without me," Arthur smiled holding his back which was stained with blood.

"No, we stick together to the end," the woman smiled at Arthur holding his head to her heart. "To the end," they both said in unison as people with black masks stabbed them both as they fainted.
